View Full Version : Need At-Home workout

Hello.

I am 15, 6'2" and about 175lbs and I'm not in great shape, and I'm interested in starting tricking. I've tried to get into shape before, but I've never had dedication like I do now. I could go to the gym, but I prefer not to because I don't enjoy being indoors and working out, I'd rather be outside. I can't do any tricking anything, really unless you count a cartwheel.

Now I pose my question, is there any workout I can do at home without any weights? I can find small weights at home, but nothing huge. Anything would help, please. Much appreciated.

P.S. What should my target date be for starting? 4 months or so?

It's the most direct and practical way to get a workout. Without progressive resistance, you cannot build appreciable strength or muscle.

Dude, buy some weights. Get your parents to buy some. I have a whole weight set in my backyard.

Well if your 175 lbs and out of shape you're probably overweight, in which case you mostly just need to work than fat off through things like cardio exercise. Don't do that gay cardio, go for hardcore stuff! Sprints! Interval training! Anaerobic exercise! It burns more fat scientifically.
Also, eat a good and healthy diet, taking in less calories than you use each day to help with losing weight as well.

And if you really want strength stuff, try body weight stuff.

Or heck, your 15. Don't you have a weight room or weight training class/club at your school?

research body weight exercise, try beastskills and exrx.net. decide on putting together a small regimen even if u dont know how efficeint it is, u will learn from experience, make sure not to neglect body parts. be creative, (eg do dips between chairs, hold a chair from the legs n try lifting just with ur forearms, squat with a little brother on your back, etc..) i could say much more but its really all on the net, befriend google, read a lot and ull b fine, gdluck

I used to workout at home. If I can find my old routine I'll post it. You will probably not get the same results as me so you can adjust it to your liking if you wish. All you need are adjustable dumbbells. An adjustable barbell and pull up bar would help too.

We need to know how strong you already are. How much push ups, sit ups, pull ups, bw squats, etc. can you do ?
If you can do more than 20 at any of these movements you should chose other variations where you can only do 3-12.Like pistols etc. Or do the above with additional weight. This will build strength rather than endurance.

You can get pretty strong with bwe´s only.

When I went to the gym I did ~80lb squats.

I'm not fat, just not in great enough shape to do any of what you guys do.

..Alright screw it. You're probably right, I'll just go to the gym..damnit.

just try doing press-ups and sit-ups everyday. try to do at least 20 a day and you will soon be on the way to strength and tone. i did it for a couple of weeks and i saw a massive improvement.
