well pretty much regular as u were doing your aerail with run up
but basically you need to do a standing aerial with more power casue un the standing aerial you do not have the run up that could help you
now to the move itself --jump hard swing the leg hard and don't forget to use your arms
think of it as regular aerial but without the run up good luck :-)

Like running, just standing?
Run fast, go down with your non kicking leg jump up, swing your other leg fast and ram it into the soil.
Good luck!!!

i find it easier to do them from an axe kick when doing them standing, but maybe you are already trying that. just do it as you do a regular aerial but faster, and don't forget to USE YOUR ARMS, they are important.

Well how about learning aerials running, then build up by making the run up slower with less distance step by step. Until you get to a standing aerial? Seems logical, no?

jump like a bitch
i used to swing my arms around like an idiot but lately i've been focussing more on swinging my leg up and jumping hard off that take-off leg. i must say it works wonders on non-running aerials, and i get around pretty high and floaty. so you might try focussing more on the lower part of the body rather than your torso.

If you need a huge run up or a huge stomp to do your aerial you're probably not doing it well anyways, which means you have to analyze what could make it better yourself.

Posts like this make me wonder if anyone actually bothers to read Juji's tutorials.

For my momentum aerials, i take a tiny skip forward, then i hurdle with my kicking leg pretty high, and jump. I don't use that much momentum since i get used to doing aerials for more than a year.

Cool. Your aerials go right over your head, right?
Got any videos?

using your hands is a key point when you dont have momentum bring them close to the ground, but dont touch....and when you do that...it helps your whole body rotate... XD
This is what towels told me when I was learning them.
Learning a regular running aerial.
Learn a skip aerial.
Learn a hook kick aerial.
do the hook kick, stop, then aerial.
Then just do it

hes right...just learn the aerial until you have it down alll the way, then once you do it really good, you should be able to just aerial whenever... i was walking down the sidewalk of my highschool orientation and just broke out into an aerial i didnt have any special set up to do it..just....regular walking.. XD

hook-aerials are really hard to do correctly, most of them turn into trickster-like aerials due to the sideways momentum. i don't know if anyone else had that problem, but i don't recommend doing aerials from hooks if you want to do thenm gymnast style.

I also had that problem for a while. To avoid the "trickster-like" aerial, I rotate my base foot ninety degrees while my hook kick travels along it's path, so that when my kicking leg falls down, it falls straight down (like an axe-kick). When my foot contacts the ground, I already have a degree of knee bend that allows me to spring back up into an aerial.
I prefer preceding aerials with crescent or wheel kicks (much easier, imo).
