I think my main problem is launching off with my feet. I am conciously telling myself to jump as hard as I can but it feels like it throws me off instead.

I read in tutorials to only rotate at the peak of my jump, but when I try to do that it feels as if I rotate too late instead. Any help?

If you feel your not, rotating fast enough, your probably not tucking tight enough. Also try bringing your knees to your chest, hard and fast. This should give you the extra speed in your rotation. I know it helps mine.

Just go at it more confidently. That doesn't mean being reckless, but you should definitely get a feel for just powering through it. In terms of getting to your peak and not feeling enough momentum or feeling a lack of rotational power, you should realize that not only do you need to jump up, but you need to jump slightly back to more easily initiate rotation. Otherwise, it's really hard to just jump straight up and rotate, as ideal as it sounds.
