well after a freaking year and a half of trying, ive finally got them. But, im not looking for praise or anything, im here to say something. For those of you, like myself, who were watching Juji's tut and every other one out there trying to get them, listen up. Do you end up most of the way around, but youre legs seem to freeze in the air? do you seem just to put a hand down, no matter how hard you try not to? try this: run into it. run at a good pace for a few steps first. i had read somewhere that doing this was bad, because it kills your jump or something, but i encourage you to try this. This was suggested to me, and i tried it skeptically and i seriously landed it my second try. Im guessing, to restate that means that I cannot back this up because I HAVE NOT gotten to try this. Im GUESSING, that if it is practiced like this, that you'll slowly better w it, and will be able to do it with less and less of a run up, until you can do them standing. i plan to test this out myself, but i hope that my long post helps someone else to get their aerials, and i ask that anyone who benefits from this please responds and helps me test this one out. Sorry about the length, and ill try to get a vid up eventually. Thank ya'll for the time lol.

Haha :)

That wasn't a long post at all, dude :good:

I do think different take-offs should generally be shown / explained in tutorials, so people get ideas and courage to try different stuff out. For some people stuff like "try different take-offs" isn't always obvious, mh! For future reference, try different take-offs for different moves! Do whatever works for you, regardless of what other people are doing!

Oh and yes, you can learn a standing aerial that way... actually, it's the best way there is! Ha! So go and do it now

Oh and dude, you might want to try an' start using... uh, what's the English word? ... paragraphs! Yes, start using paragraphs! For example:

... suggested to me, and i tried it skeptically and i seriously landed it my second try.

Im guessing, to restate that means that I cannot back this up because I HAVE NOT gotten to try this...

The empty line represents a change in topic slash thoughts.

I hope you won't get flamed :dead:

EDIT: Congratulations, yeah, I forgot that. Haha! Seriously, aerials can be bitches to learn, so congrats on the achievement.

EDIT 2: Sessh, your post made me feel bad about mine, I was being too negative... so I edited it out. Thanks for constantly being supportive to everyone, newbies and more skilled alike. Your attidute reminds other people (well, at least me) to keep theirs in order.

Congratulations bro  hopefully you'll continue to use them. Alot of people put Aerials to the backseat once they learn other advanced movements :eh:

Yea i always had problems with aerials because occasionally i would just put my hands down. Eventually i got over it, but I think it was bad to just try not to put my hands down. Jumping higher and putting more effort behind the kick gave me the power and height to get around. Putting half effort into it resulted in major ankle destruction. :(

Yep, I learned aerial by running into them...

Actually, I learned the barani first... then slowly turned it into aerial. It's been about a month since my first aerial, and slowly I lessened the running time. I now have the standing aerial down! Next on the list: Axe to Aerial...

running really helps.
you can also try cartwheeling of benches to lower ground. that sometimes also helps with the hands-down problem

Well done :)

It's odd that someone needed to tell you that running would help, but nonetheless good work.

I still can't land them on grass, however I possibly could with a bit of serious practice but too many other tricks to worry about at the moment :eh:
