i think that there a little dumb and seem pretty easy if i've looked up a backside properly..pretty much a stand still jump spin kick -360 degree's..hmm what would some of these backside moves be considered as skill wise

*fixed* because that's pretty much what you're saying. FOR EVERYONE:

backside is basically the same thing as cheat step, it is a pop takeoff with the intervals of rotation of any existing cheat kick.

Facts about backside:
-'Backside' whatever is equal to 1/2 less rotation than the kick trick. Ex. "backside 900" is a 540 rotation in the air, plus round kick because "pop900" is 720 rotation in the air, plus round kick
-it is an EXTREMELY valuable tool for learning all kick tricks (including everyone's favorites like cheat hyper9, pop1080
-like regular pop kicks, they can go up in rotation as high as is possible to perform, in fact Gary Ip's now famous 'debatable 1440' can also be viewed as a FLAWLESS backside 1440 [1080\] as in 3 full spins in the air, plus hook kick

-they account for all missing intervals of rotation from which it is possible to do vert spin kicks (including variations). Example:

confused: "if you do a 360 in the air, then it MUST be a round kick because it's impossible to do a hook kick with that amount of spin. If you do a 720 in the air then it MUST be a round kick because it's impossible to do a hook kick with that amount of spin. If you do a 900 in the air then it MUST be a hook kick because it's impossible to do a round kick with that amount of spin. Etc etc..."

enlightened: "360, 720, and 900 are degrees of rotation and not kicks, therefore it is possible to pair any degree of rotation with either kick!"




other than all that. I personally dislike the terminology of it, because it once again sounds like we're trying to get away with more spin than we are really doing. TRUE KICK TERMINOLOGY OWNS ALL FOREVER!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!

a backside move isn't where you try to 1080 and open up a half spin too early and kick at the opposite way of your "line."

watch matt emig man..he straight looks at the camera with his back to it, jumps, spins, and kicks towards where he was spotting.
backside isn't a way to just label your failed tricks, it's a different trick in it's own.

I like the concept of just naming kicks based on how much spinning we actually do in the air.

With the except of the 540 kick, that particular name should never change.

Backside is gay unless done in combos, as it allows for the amount of rotation to be adjusted so that you kick comes out at the right target.

that shit is out of control. it needs to be slowed down . alot.
