Ok - I am pretty much expecting to have te piss ripped out of me, but I cant do arials. They end up with me falling over, not straightening my legs or me putting my hand down.
I have done a video. This is about half way through my tricking session, they were crappier before this bit (!) and they got worse as I got knackered.
Does anyone have any tips of what i am doing wrong, or is it a case of practice and having the balls not to put my hand(s) down? Am i on the right path - cos if not, I need to know!

Thanks - all advice gratefully received.

I personally don't really like this style of aerial (b-kick ish) as it is difficult to get completely vertical. I recommend learning it the gymnastics way, as I think it looks better and is good for learning other aerial variations, which is always nice.
I myself, learned the technique this way in a matter of minutes:

Though I must admit that my aerials aren't terribly consistent :eh: But anyway, thats just me, I'm sure someone else will offer much more in depth advice than myself.

Ohhnonono, you're not ready for the aerial. You'd want a good cartwheel before even attempting the aerial (IMO). So, go practise your cartwheels, go practise your cartwheels alot. Work on getting your legs straight over your body. When you've got a good cartwheel, try the dive cartwheel. Then just jump more and more and evetually, you'll get it. But right now, you should be focusing on getting your cartwheel+cartwheel variations nice and clean.

you are not ready yet. have a strong, powerful and fast cartwheel before attempting aerials. atm you are doing slanted cartwheels, and thus slanted aerial attempts, in which you will probably end up with inverted bkicks (and nobody likes those). so yeah work on your cartwheels first. oh and remove the mat, it'll only get in your way :good:

Just to re-emphasize, in no possible way in the history of God will you be able to Aerial with your current technique. :dead:
As has been suggested, work cartwheels a lot. Get them fast, powerful. Do them facing forwards, then turn to the side during the cartwheel, then end facing where you came from. Work work work work work them to death and beyond por favor. Here's something to get you started:

Haha it's good that you're following this advice. Some people really just don't want to bother with drilling more basic stuff before attempting the difficult tricks. This usually results in pain and ugly-ass tricks.
Work them cartwheels man, it will definitely pay off :)

No point in asking if you're not going to follow the tips they give. :)
