yo... the camps/gathering sections isn't very helpful so I'm posting here.
There doesn't seem to be a large tricking scene in the bay area or am i just unaware.. please send me a private message or somethin i really wanna find out of theres a gym nearby i live around Fremont in norcal.

Another thing is i heard a bit about looptricks gathering, but it's expensive and i won't get anything out of it cus i dont know much about tricking. I'm just wonderin where do all the trickers gather in the bay area?

I was also learning muay thai and shit so i'm lookin for a place to spar (people to spar with).
This is unrelated but I play drums as well so if you're lookin for a drummer/beatboxer/turntablist.. (I play mostly oddtime shit) yea, let me know.

San Jose has one of the biggest tricking communities in the world. The West Coast MA schools would be a good place to start, but you could just message some of the loopkick guys on here or on Bilang, which they frequent more.

Dude! I moved away from the Bay Area close to 2 years ago and about cried. Dude, you are in the best place for tricking. Go down south to da 408, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara.... Loopkicks!! Santa Clara, Ernie Reyes West Coast is the best thing I can tell you off the top of my head.

That's in Santa Clara. I dunno if you're familiar with the south bay any, but it's on the corner of El Camino Real and San Thomas Expressway.

Also, for gatherings and stuff, find loopkicks on myspace and add them to your friends list. They might post bulletins and stuff. Bilang.com board as well. Internet is your best friend.

isn't that a martial arts school though?
i'm not willing to pay 100 bucks per month to learn how to trick.. which is the normal price for most martial art classes.

Screw the school they're just telling you how to find other people in general.

There are some other cities/locations that have some really dope trickers you can learn from besides the San Jose/Milpitas [Bay Area]. However, there is no other place where tricking is as wide spread...just about any random person is you meet is gonna know what MAT is. It's like the misconception that all asian people know some type of MA...but it's more true

yea but i haven't been able to find any people.. loopkicks was the first group i found while searching the web.. and i saw they did some seminar last month but that shit was like 500 bucks for a week.. there's no way i could shell out that much just to get started. I was thinking there was a tricking community similar to the breakdance community, where you can just show up and practice with people without having to pay. Hope i'm not sounding cheap but that was what I imagined.

Yea dude, just find them. It's not like they only do those dang seminars. Just be like, SUP GUYS LETS CHILL.

Dude, find some of them on this forum, or on myspace. And ask about meeting them. It's not a special event so they're not gonna be like OH YA BETTA PAY.

Yes, Loopkicks is not for beginners. Sure, you can learn from them at your current skill level; but it won't be as beneficial as it would be if you had a year or two experience under your belt. As you say [or had once thought], the MAT community is sinilar to the "bboying" community. If you find a non-professional group [in which Loopkicks is the most venerated tricking team in the Bay, and outside of], you most likely won't have to pay a fee to trick with, or learn from them.

BUT THEN AGAIN...you looked them up under the premisce of learning about a "seminar" [which means "money for brief, but quality instruction"]. If you were to visit Paramount Gymnastics at the same time as Loopkicks trained, I'm sure you you could trick with them without having to pay an extra fee [extra, cause it cost money to use the gym].

yo chrisd here

its 5 bucks on thursdays 7-9pm. if you wanna session with us. its open to anyone

1011 fair oaks avenue
sunnyvale, ca 94089

by the way.. we rarely conduct seminars in the bay area. we do hold sessions every few months tho n theyre always fun.

the $500 per week thing you referred to was most likely the loopkicks tricking camp we hold once a year in san jose. where we train, feed, house, chill, n give goodies n performances for you.

Sorry to break it to you guys..but the Ip can't trick much at bay aerials gym except during holiday season since he dorms at college in the SoCal area.

But hey....It's pretty much holiday season for college people so he's pretty much back home now.
