I don't know about you, but theres really some moves that dont turn me on, no matter how good the performer is:
Webster or axe2webster
Frontflip
Crescent single leg
Backflip or roundoff backflip
Arabian
What about you?

im a firm believer that style can be applied to almost any move, so technically you could make any move look good. i wouldn't say this kind of thinking is healthy for your progression in tricking man. i noticed you havn't included any kicks and always post in favour of that particular genre.
you're definately entitled to like kicks more! ...BUT... i think what you really appreciate is clean technique over technical difficulty (often displayed by those who train kicks to an above-average standard). i know i personally used to think the same (i got into tricking because i liked the kicks), but when i began to appreciate it as a whole i made much more progress and enjoyed myself much more. just food for thought man, it'd be interesting hearing what you think and why. =)

I like this thread just because i believe everyone goes through stages of disliking what they're not good at.
EDIT: I'm not having a personal go at you but you do seem to be a dominant kicker and you'll find that you wont appreciate the difficulty aspects of moves that you can't do.

i don't like grandmasterswipes very much. the name seems odd for a move doesn't really look like the original masterswipe. it also doesn't look very visually appealing to me. and i just came back from a session with horrible gmswipe bails. bah, i hate this move.
i don't like 1440's.
i can't 1080 yet.

Username>> Yeah that might be it, though i can some of the moves, I have experienced a move is more interesting and often looks nicer when you can do it yourself, good point!:good:

*just going to slightly elaborate again with a shit paragraph consisting of too many 'one's'*
When one sees a video of a double back one can appreciate the aesthetic value of the move. When one can double back one can appreciate the difficulty involved and can respect the skill taken to execute the move. Only when one can do that move can they really appreciate it.

Scoot (pop) full
Tim!
I finally got that axe to hyper sideflip yesterday.
now to just get a missleg sideflip out of it :ogre:
[/off topic posting.
I hate any move with bent legs (that doesn't require a tuck) They look like shit and are very sloppy. Example:
Poor fulls
Poor 540s
Poor doublelegs
Poor corks
Poor....

i can relate to that. but i'll summarise by saying:
poorly executed moves don't look good ahaha

ARGH!!
:: Hypertwist ::
It can be nice when it's high and floaty, or when it's done from or into a complicated transition; but alone...it just doesn't shine.

Au Batido lolz.

Ya I agree haha. It's only good to learn hhook and double btwist and general overrotation principles, a necessary evil? :wicked: Even in combos it seems even less wowful than a regular btwist hehe. Only Dizzy makes em especially impressive.

Axe2Websters! When the axe kick goes up, you expect the beauty of the axe2aerial in a moment, and then you get a webster in your face... :-(

Hahaha yea I quite agree.
The only good ones are like the ones in that one huge Capoeira video, where they just bust axe2webster (+switches) and manages to hold they're leg up upon landing.
But then again whenever they do that they usually look goofy cause they land with one leg in the air then hop around then do it again etc etc etc haha.

i don't understand the lack of love for axe2websters! they look awesome and are fun as hell. getting an axe kick (with or without a switch) on the end looks even sicker, and if you can alter the technique so it's a free walkover that's sicker still.

It is easy and not beautiful lol.
Who knows maybe it's because most people land them quite crouched or just do them to end stupid combos where they land and manage to swing their leg through and have nothing else to do haha.

Well not so. It's totally useless and yet sort of interesting to see if there's a general consensus on what people just don't enjoy to see that much.
But then again it is being posted in by TTers so there is a 1 in 1.1 chance that it will turn into a thread of mindless stupidity.
It was completely based on your post, that's why i quoted it.
Kk. But I'm speaking in general. Axe2Websters are ez, well depending on how well the webster mechanics are. But who knows, it's just mostly not enjoyable, for the reason stated in my last post: people always use it to finish desperately ending combos.

I just think the kick looks less defined than with a regular 540 , which is one my favorite kicks .

I dislike corks because they have brought me a lot of pain. Also, they've humiliated me and stole my money.
THATS IT GUYS MY NEXT SAMPLER IS GOING TO BE FULL OF AXE TO WEBSTERS AND YOU WILL LIKE IT.
YOU WILL BOW DOWN AT THE FEET OF THE AXE TO WEBSTER.

Hyper aerial...I just never thought it looked very graceful
tucked websters, step-out ones are very cool though, and so are losers, but regular ones don't turn me on
Double legs...unless the legs are perfectly straight and together and it's high.

gumby...whats the point just learn a raiz

Agreed.

front flip - same reason as alpha
back flip - unless its one of those delayed ones or really high. I just prefer to see a flash kick out of it instead
sideflip -
pop 360 - i think this is mainly because i can't do them :(

Moves I think look stupid:
-Grandmaster Swipe
-Feilong 540
-Any "backside" move without a trick before it
-X-In
Moves I can do, but don't like to do:
-Double Leg
-Front Tumbling (all of it, lol)
-Hyper Twist
-Cork
-Full, Double Full, etc
