1st of all i would like to say hello to all, i am a new member in the tricking community and as a noob i got some problems ofcourse..! i read all the tutorial info for starters and i started practicing a bit some stuff with a friend of mine. i ve almost perfected the cartwheel(yes, i am completly a noob) and i gave some shots at 540. then i wanted to try some more tricks from the 6 basic and next on the list was the aerial.. the problem is, that i am too scared to try that cause i am afraid (and it is the most likely to happen) that i ll land on my head or neck and i will cause some serious trauma to myself :dead:..(i work out the moves at a grassy area). so from your experience, is there any sollution to this? like an alternative place to practice or something? and are there any incidents of serious injuring when practicing some specific tricks? thank you in advance!

if you are a complete noob.....you will fall on your side but you must be damn near handicap to land on you head doing an aerial......if you have almost perfected the cartwheel......also in an aerial you must jump....so just remember that

There's something really cool called "hands". Nearly every human-being has them. Since you started tricking I think you also call a pair of hands your own. So USE them! Before you hit the ground and die of stupidity just stretch out your hands and break them instead of your neck. Have fun!

The worst thing that will happen with aerials is you'll land in dogshit or step on a bee

Yeah lol, stand on a bee, or a shard of glass.
But serios, just try it, and if you bail, just stick your hands out and you'll roll somewhere. The main point you'll receive here is to just practice practice and practice some more.

If you're about to land on your sides, try not to reach your arms out, just land on your side. You'll get used to it and it'll develop better habits if you start progressing more towards a complete aerial.
You might snap your arm if you reach out to stop yourself from falling on your side. Just pointing that out.

well, thanx for all the answers! as it seems to me , i just have to try it and see the results(if u dont get any news on my progress, something would have gone wrong propably ;). and yes i got hands, but the thing is that i dont know if the reaction time that i ll have to prevent falling with my head would be sufficient..and also eventually i ll have to stop using my hands to perfect the aerial , but ofc i still have a long way till that point..i think i ll give it a shot tomorrow! thnx again! (and yes, i ve almost perfected the cartwheel...from my point of view at least.. :P )

shit another peter. AND you capitalized the P and your last initial! shit.
right so... aerial. if you dont land it on your foot directly you'll land it partially on your foot then slide. you'll be fine. have fun.
k maby u should try first 1 hand cartwheel...and after that the aerial will be easyer for u...I also practice aerial now...and this is how I've started cartwheel>1 hand cartwheel> aerial[wll got to work on it a little bit but..]
