Yeah your front stretch lift. I already know this thread is crap because most pics are going to be of people stretching their legs up to their max range. You'd be better off holding this thread in the Flexibility subforum.
Crap crap and Director's Cut Version Edition Crap.

Man lol that was a joke I find that funny.
I can do a kick like diogoo did but I dont think I can take pic into that poztion because of my camera. I can record a movie or a leg raise simply raise my leg and support it with the hand and hold it until the pic is done hmm I think I did that before.

Record yourself while doing kicks and stuff and use BSplayer to take a pic from the movie.

Do front kicks really count on this thread? It probably must be me, i prefer doing a high side kick rather than a high front kick.

This is a more recent picture. But i haven't stretched in a lonnnnnng time =/. Plus doing it with jeans does not help at all.

These are awesome pics. I have trouble telling though, are they being held there (like a static-active stretch) or being taken at the arc of a temporary kick (like a dynamic-active stretch)?
Sometimes I wonder if some joints in some people have greater motions that they're meant to enter into through pure momentum/gravity which the muscles can't pull them into more than a moment?

Sep-19-07, 01:54 AM
I've yet to hold that sidekick that high. My aunt has a really good camera and i have good timing on taking the picture
so yeah, dynamic-active stretch
I don't have a high kick... I have a low kick which it would be pointless to post (maybe if I wanted all of you to laugh at me)

Hey graber, keep your back completely straight when you do front kicks and you will be able to kick your toes to your forehead. It would be cool if you took a picture of that.

People always say static-active flexibility, where you'd think the kicking leg is coming higher, but in a lot of pics like this it actually doesn't look like it's abducting much at all, instead you just learn to have a strong range of motion in your base leg to tilt your torso so the leg rises...

Mar-05-08, 04:29 PM
Yep. I can kick near vertically in what looks like a side kick if I get the range from the hamstring of my base leg.
Still, this thread's not technically about flexibility....
Ashtar
Mar-05-08, 07:18 PM
Oh yeah... didn't notice that. Here, I'll post a pic. I can only do it of a static-active hold because I don't have the timing to snap it at the arch of a kick, and I don't know how to cut a frame out of a video and turn it into a picture. Whenever I click 'print screen' to copy my screen image from playing Windows Media Player I get this weird transparency shit going on.

This should serve as a good comparison to a mean member of the population as to be motivating for exceptional individuals with greater RoM.
Really no active abduction of the kicking leg in the side kick at all, it's sad. Flexible hams but tight adductors.

I'd post my high kick, but thing is, its pure epicness would crush not only TT, but the whole tricking community from angola to florida.
And i don't have a camera either.

Here is mine, from about 3 months ago
Body builders can't kick high, I'm happy. Not implying I am one though.

Mar-09-08, 03:53 PM
I'm sure there's some out there who can, if Ronnie can do splits, some guy's gotta be able to kick into it.

Mar-10-08, 05:05 PM
body building does not influence flexibility, you can be flexible and
"big" at the same time, its all about if you strecth enough
