yea sup guys, just got into tricking recently with some of my mates. come from a bit of a parkour background but havent been at that for very long.

hit the beach up today, tried some cheat gainers on the sand, failed miserably. sand absorbs alot of the upthrust from blocking, so we tried some backflips.

at first, id seen jujimufus tutorial on youtube so we all started spotting each other and shit, eventually we got it down. got it without spotters, moved up to the grass, used spotters, got it down again. heres one of my backflips.

i tried something different after watching a couple of video attempts, in this one i tried to stall a little longer but i kinda messed up my tuck and didnt know what to do and bailed. turned out to be hilarious.

can anyone give me some tips for the next time i try this move?

uh, also how do i embed? if i take the embedding url from youtube and just copy paste it into my post it doesn't work. example:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/o-dRD8lJ4Fk"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/o-dRD8lJ4Fk" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

what tags do i put the embedding url in?

tuck your legs to your chest and dont grab your ass to turn, but your knees. Its easier like that.
And nice bail

If you tucked in your legs before that bail, it would have looked like a slight gainer.

i dont quite understand when im meant to tuck. i tried to tuck at the peak of my jump and thats how i bailed, i kinda just jump up and slam my knees to my chest when it feels right.

to embed somehthing copy the URL. the 'embed' thing on youtube doesnt work here
then when you post it go into advanced and you will see a youtube button. hit that and it put the URL into the tags

Look like you kinda jumped forward on the bail. When stalling, jump up, with a slight lean back, and tuck. That lean with make you knees go at an angle making you rotate. As you improve you can lean less and eventually land exactly where you jump from.

On the first one: that's what my first backflips looked like two... took about 2 weeks to perfect the technique and do them properly. Just practice, and stall a little more at a time.

Your first video you actually stalled quite nicely. Only thing, it seems you didn't tuck hard enough and you released a bit early.

Actually, looking at it again, you leaned back too much. Try jumping straight up and opening your chest towards the sky. That should make you lean back very slightly, then pull your knees to your chest. That way, you get the highest and cleanest backflip possible.

And I was right. You opened up a bit early. Stay tucked just a bit more.

I want to say a few things that might help in your backflips.
I can take it in steps, and then it will be very easy, but ofcourse im not sure of how many thousands of people that have allready told you this? But what tha hell ^^ If i can help you with some tips, i guess that is awsome! ^^

1. You know, allways jump ass straight up as you possibly can. (That ofcourse if you dont want to do a layout drop from some hight? In that case you might die. ^^).
STRAIGHT UP! ^^ (Haha, i said Ass.. i ment "as high as you"..)

2. Allways keep your head pressed against your chest, that will make the rotation much easier, and faster.

3. When you have jumped up, pull your knees against your body hard, and grab them with your hands, (i once tried to grab my knees with my foot, that didnt end well..)

4. YOU WILL ROTATE! ^^

5. You may see some air for a moment, just a little moment. Then you should see the ground, if you didnt screw up BADLY!? ^^ And then you just have to land. On your feet! On the ground! ^¨

Tip: In the beginning, its better to maybe land in a more sitting position and you may roll backwards just becaus you rotated a little too much. Thats good! Then you just have to straighten out your body earlier next time! ^^)

I hope i could help? ^^

my back/the lat area which i landed on in my bail still hurts so i havent been able to practice these things... actually if it doesnt get better by wedensday im going to a physio. i cant do a pushup atm, far too much pain when i push.

anyone else got any tips? so just arch back less on my initial jump and tuck earlier and tighter? im gonna try some double legs/btwists and try and get my front tucks down. ill update this if i end up getting em on my camera phone.
