Donation instructions:

What?! Donations? HAH! ... Okay ... But no money! I don't want your money, there are several other things you can do to help keep me motivated.

Help host videos: This website uses very little bandwidth if the videos are hosted from outside sources. If people continue to host videos I'll have to spare little of my own money. That's cool! If you've got something of mine uploaded on a server, hook me up with the link.

Feedback: I need feedback on my write ups. If there are any errors notify me, I'd really appreciate it. Moreover, if you have any good ideas please share.

Send me metal CDs: I listen to a lot of metal; Mostly power and heavy metal. I collect the albums, so if you want to send me one or burn me a copy of one you got, send it my way. That would freaking rule! Mailing address can be found above.

So if you feel compelled to thank me with services or material goods, those are some things I would really appreciate. I don't want your money, just a bunch of stuff from friends!

There was but one time Juji needed donation money though. View here: http://www.trickstutorials.com/index.php?page=content/fundraiser2006

Mmkay. However it is, I would still donate to Juji. Having a donation button with no ties whatsoever to upcoming tutorials or any other new material would be cool.

EDIT: And the bandwith limit (pay per data transferred) is really stupid haha. Plenty of servers providing for free or for a static fee... here.

The smallest donation is still a donation. Andrew Wielochowski donated $2

Maybe you could find him and ask? Yeah I guess that'd be more hassle but if you couldn't find his screename...

Yes. Free or a static fee until the website uses a ton of bandwidth.

According to the stats Juji posted in the other thread, the site is averaging about 1.7 GB per day. This goes up massively when new videos are posted. This is why he pays fees.

Plenty of crappy hosters that offer awful support and sting you when they get the chance. I've been through three and Justin who runs trickingworld.com has been through even more of the type of hosters you refer to, which typically offer "unlimited" everything, it's just a bunch of "terribleness."

We're on a really good one now that is insanely fast, best support I've encountered yet, with lots of scripting utilities I need to ensure database backup and security, just happens to have bandwidth limitations. Most Vbulletin enthusiast are running on the same host.

The thing is, the webalizer is feeding back problematic data. I've run 60 gig in the past 15 days according to their measurements, but the webalizer is reading the 1.7, 2.0 a day average. I'll have to check into it, if I ever actually get to go home. Work + School. I'm at my house just enough to make 5 meals for my lunch box and sleep now. I do everything else out here on campus, in between classes and at work: Including train, eat, drink, shit, shower, change clothes, and answer threads like this one. I still live with my parents but haven't seen them in days.

Oh, this thread is about paypal donations. I have a link setup where paypal directly puts the donation to the balance of my webhosting fee invoice. I'll have to dig it up when I can get to my bookmarks on my actual computer, I forgot what it was.

I could use the help. :nervous: I would feel a lot better with it. :nervous: :nervous:

Ahahaha. I'm afraid my life will consist of the same thing the next three semesters of my college career.

Luckily, Pitt has amazing training facilities :good: Hopefully your school is impressively equipped as well.

Make sure you put a discrete "donate" button that is constantly shown somewhere in the top menu. That's where people will look.

If it is where people look how will it be discrete?

Cully

Discrete doesn't mean hidden.... I guess I mean... NOT BIG HUGE BANNERS

Everyone knows the paypal logo thing... if there was a small one of those somewhere, then it would be seen if people wanted to donate.

The bottom red bar would actually be a good location.

juji check out vistapages.com, they offer a shit load of bandwidth and a shit load of storage for not a lot of money. And the servers are fast (check extremetricking.com).

I don't think he's looking for a new server at this stage... I got the impression that he spent a long time getting this one...

I was talking about for video hosting alone.

Sep-20-07, 07:47 AM
Yeah but that's gonna be another bill every month... even if it is cheap.

This thread is about paypal and not hosting anyway.

If we were to always assume that x is the case then valuable feeback / suggestions could go un noticed.
