So basically here's a few corks that I did last session... there's just something really odd about them, especially the ones from j-step. I think my reverse corks are much better.. but still kinda weird (especially since mostly reverse corks should be more gainerfull-ish?).

Maybe I just need to practice more.. is there anything blatantly obvious that's wrong with them, though? I should probably get standing fulls consistent..

When you twist try not to curl downwards by throwing your arms down, try to just twist them around your vertical axis (which will be horizontal at the time of twist ahah).

I thought the setup/set on the last one was the best. Also try twisting just a littttttle sooner. And think of doing it as fast as possible.

I want you to get more tips haha.

when learning corks it's best to start of with a J-step
once you get a good feel for j step cork you can move on doing corks from the hop setup to make your corks STRONGER , FASTER, BETTER,...

Same thing I told you before, man. You gotta set.

As for hop setups being just for fulls, don't worry about it. I do this setup all the time because, although it lacks the power of a good J-Step, it's better for cork swingthrus (cork to cork, for example). I haven't actually done cork swings from this setup, I've only used J-Step for those, but whenever I did it my momentum was f$&ked up and it always felt weird...plus, my knee hated it...

So you're saying I should do it more like a standing full? I think that's what Skilz was getting at too. I have yet to try, fucking school, seriously I've been out of training for the longest time :\

Oh well, ty.

Sortof.

Basically, it's a slant gainer flash fulltwist. The slant gainer is the part that puts you off axis; after you leave the ground with slant gainer in mind, it's just a standard fulltwist.

I was sorta trying to get to that, but you don't want to really do it like a full in that you don't want to lean back or give yourself any backwards momentum at all haha.

this may help:

http://trickstutorials.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33196

like mike said you need a slant gainer, but not a shit one. Make sure you have a high moonkick that flows. Your leg and hips should lead the slant gainer all the way round and you should feel like the point of rotation is around your shoulders.

There is a point in a slant gainer where you arch over one shoulder. With a cork instead of arching you should wrap in order to spin. Make sure that your chin is on your chest towards the leading shoulder in the spin (this will help you to spin faster), also don't forget about your legs when spinning. The upwards power from the kick of the gainer shouldbe used to generate torque from the spin, your legs should feel as if they are wrapping towards the direction of rotation as much as your arms will.

I hope that helps

You don't want to go backwards on fulltwists, either. There's backwards rotation, of course, but same goes for corkscrews. You just happen to be horizontal when it happens.
