One other thing that gets to me is that on one side MA tricks encourage people to kick alot. And if i'm not mistaken at Open Tourneys more than 3 acrobatic moves in a form are not allowed, but on the other hand you see people wiggling their ass in uniform, it's pretty stupid.

seems like your talking nbl moves..naska has no limit on acrobatic moves as well as this tourny seems very much like the french open which are basic free for all in what you can do.
every circuit has its own rules krane,naska,nbl...so each one has their own way of dealing with open forms.
kim do comes from west coast and that school is very musically oriented in doing demo shows. this is just kinda how he was brought up,...watch his old forms or his west coast forms and you'd see what i mean.
Kim do is a legend, dont knock someone who's been on the tricking scene since way back when.

hmm..well. everyone's entitled to their own opinion. but as for as background on kim do goes? then maybe youd be less likely to smash on him...iono. i thought the dance was weird too..but look at his formw hen he does hands. shits hella freakin quick. iono..
and i DEFINATELY dont think any one person is fit to tell someone whether they deserve a black belt or not..unless youre better/more experienced significantly. but i guaruntee you...none of you are. in which case..ask why he did the dance..dont disrespect him. share your opinion tho..

everything about it was shoddy. even the belt looked bad...pointing up haha. i guess it was new and hadnt been broken in yet.
plus the shirt hanging out sloppily in the back. just looking at the actual form part of it, lacks intensity/power/snap...dont care if its a nightshow or not, it was bad.
this reminds me of when carmichael simon came out with his retarded trainwreck of an idea xaolin gruv or whatever it was called. im not opposed to mixing styles but you have to do it right. jester of fs is a pretty good example of how to do it right.
id bet if you showed a dancer the beginning they would agree that the dance was crappy too.

kim do isn't a bad dance. He's a pretty good martial artist too. But putting the two together..doesn't quite do it for me. It reminds me of that stupid shaolin gruv shit from a few years back. I was pretty surprised that he pulled out the sword skillz though. That was some serious stuff, although while watching him I get the feeling like..im scared he's going to screw up lol.
That night show would have been 1000x more awesome if he mixed the song in with SFX and track changes like he used to do in his old musical forms where he synced with the SFX. Those were so fucking bad ass.

lol he got like a 6th or 7th degree last summer..i was there for that.
I'm also in the boat of people who didn't enjoy this. I think Kim Do is awesome, but this didn't do it for me, except the sword bit at the end. That was neat, although I enjoyed the slashes more than the spinning to be honest.
