Well I guess there's no more apporpriate time to make this post since Kalman's Post-Surgery Sampler was officially released today...
For anyone who didn't already know, at the GA Gathering this year, about 10-15 minutes into the actual tricking session, I blew out my left knee. Unlike Scalco (more similar to Kalman though), I did it on a move that I'd done loads of times and never even comtemplated hurting myself on. Being a veteran of the blown knee scenario (I blew out my right knee in 2005), I pretty much knew what went down while I clung to my knee on the floor. After my friends helped me off the floor and fixed up my knee until I could get a ride home, I kinda sat on the sidelines and started seriously thinking about my future and whether or not tricking should be a part of it anymore.

** I posted the video a while back, but this is the proper place for it I guess**
Anyway, I began doing what I remembered of the physical therapy almost immediately as well as training the rest of my body to stay in shape. I saw the doctor and he ordered the MRI, etc. Well, I saw the doctor today, and here's the damage report:
+ ACL - Grade 3 Tear
+ MCL - Grade 2 Tear
+ PCL - Grade 1 Tear (Sprain)
+ Lateral and Medial Meniscus both have tears.
The video doesn't look nearly as bad as my brag sheet, haha. Anyway, I begin physical therapy on Monday and will be having surgery around the Thanksgiving time frame. I expect I'll still be around the forums, probably more so than before, but I fully intend to take my PT to the max and make a second return.
Physics... you ain't broke me yet man...
Peace,
Ryan
