No, you are not the only one.
Use it as motivation to get better.
Keep in mind the things that make a trick look clean and nice...
Straight legs, power, toes pointed, good technique...
Also stretching and drilling your core basic kicks (hookkick, roundkick..you know) will help clean up you stuff a lot!
Also maybe take up lifting or some sort of conditioning (i know it helped me a lot)...
But most important is to keep tricking! Nice style comes from having clean tricks...mixed in with your own personal flavor.
Dont get discouraged.

That happens to pretty much all of us.
Best way to feel better? Get better. Practice more. :good:

Yeah I remember thinking my tricks looked good until I saw them. Then I was like gross!
Just like JonP said though, being able to see yourself is an invaluable tool. Think about it this way, if you never saw for yourself, you would think you were great when you actually weren't. Its important to be honest with yourself.

hahah wi boo, your tricks ARE ugly as shit. Personally i love it cause i'm the only oher person who tricks the way you do hahaha <3 "hey guys, do you think i can fix my btwist by crashing doubles?" etc
keep working man, you have a lot of stuff that is on the verge of being awesome. I only got better once i stepped back and stopped being greedy for stuff, trying to get cooler moves with out improving my techinique on the preerquisites. I'd say every few weeks you should start over from basics, as in round/hook kicks / backflip/butterfly.
get each one perfect, then build from there to:
tornado/autobahn, gainer, btwist
then get back to:
540/doubleleg/ch720, gainer (always can get the gainer better!)/cork(?i dunno if you should be doing these until you sort out your gainer and btwist. theres a shot yo'd land it but that would enforce your problem at this point, not help it), btwist/hypertwist(you've pretty much got that hypertwist now!)
Things lke your doubleg twist and ch720 twist and doublebtwist rrrrr... you DON'T have them, and you can crash them forever but you won't land until you fix your doublelegs (its a kick, not a flip!) and get a nice btwist etc.
Also consider conditioning. Stretching/dieting/strength training to get a lean flexible machine to trick in goes a long way. In this respect juji's articles are crazy helpful, and the nutrition forum on this site is top shelf. I've had better and worse periods of weight gain/loss/flexibiliy/lack thereof and have come to the conclusion that it is completely essential to be in shape to trick with any ease

Haha no you're not the only one. I can't trick worth shit either... I can do like 3 decent moves, and the rest is utter shit. That's why cameras are useful... you can film yourself and witness what shit you really are, and correct what you're doing wrong.
I'm only happy with maybe 10% of my tricks when I see them on film. It's always motivation to get better. Just use it to your advantage.

Thanks all for these kind words. It is good to know that I am not the only one who is O.C.D about their tricks. I have decided that I will drill the everloving crap out of my tricks I have now and not focus on getting as many tricks as possible. I think I will up the amount of days I will spend tricking each week, right now I only really trick once a week, no more. Haha, Thanks again. :)

it's funny... i wish MORE people felt that way. the level of the average tricksters that would post their stuff back in the day was soooooo much higher than it is today. it's like people just strive for the accomplishment factor, the problem is, there should be a qualifier on all of it:
"OMG I CAN DO A JACKNIFE!!!!"
Qualified as though it was me:
"I tried a jacknife today... my knee totally destroyed my target and the following hook kick decapitated a grass hopper... i probably should drill this a little more before i post it on the internet..."
Truth be told, i, as well as many others, can do a lot of stuff, but choose not to release it because we look awkward doing it, execute it poorly, or a wealth of other reasons. It's good that you recognize the QUALITY of your tricks and aren't obsessed with nominal value.

I pause in between all the moves in my combos! ARG! WHY DO I DO THAT?
A lot of days, my tricks all are low, crappy and generally uninspiring. Then, out of the blue, I'll have good day where all my body parts just seem to work better (including my pee-pee) and I throw all these awesome moves and land them!
Then the next day, I suck again! No!

Very good post.
I was the worst at coming down on myself for the longest time. Just be patient, and use it as fuel.

I don't really have any tricks that look good, because tornado kick isn't a trick, and my b-kick (which kinda isn't a trick either) looks terrible! but I only realised this when I filmed it!
I can do front handsprings kinda, but they look bad too, probably because i don't have the strength to 'spring' off my hands yet.
All in due time.

Just clean it up bro! Don't get discouraged, everyone has to make progress.
Every single one of my tricks just about used to be massive ugly. Now only a few are massive ugly. Just think "ok ok self it's time to do something AMAZING". Then do it! If you need to, take it one technique at a time.
One of the big lessons I learned regarding tricking and overall personal progression:
It takes time to realize it takes time.
In other words, when you first start out you're going to get discouraged fast because you haven't had experience with all this. However, time teaches you that stuff doesn't usually happen overnight and that eventually things will change. Instead of comparing yourself on a day-to-day basis where you'll get frustrated easily, compare yourself to where you were a month or a year ago and you'll see the real difference. It's all a matter of perspective.
Once you realize that time is the key and you can't rush that, you'll find yourself getting less discouraged.
