So The other day, I was screwing around after my martial arts class doing some tricking and threw a 540, and what not so the guy asked what that was, I told him its a 540, then this Korean guy [B belt] was telling us it wasn't it was just a like 360 kick on jumping leg or something [his english is not good] so yeah He said that this was the real 540, comments, ideas, maybe this is a MA 540 and Tricking 540 is different?

He's referring to 540 outside hook/crescent. as opposed to 540 inside crescent or round which we consider 540

There's the 540 (can be done either roundhouse or crescent) and the 540 crescent or hook depending on which kick you do, also called a Cheat 720, which is what's displayed in that video.

If you're referring to the 540 (not the one in the vid) than crescent or roundhouse is totally dependent on you and your style. There's not one that's necessarily better, but somtimes one is more useful than the other depending on the situation. I find myself attracted to roundhouses and hooks more than crescents nowadays simply becaue of overall appearance and the fact that doing certain variations is easier out of them.

There's still a team, yes. Jessie is in charge. Joey left, Baldwin is leaving.... or gone, one of the two, Simmons is gonna be gone soon. In April when I get there it'll be me and Jessie. He just extended again. The newbs are comin' up though. We started getting them into tricks before I left.

The buddies above are right, the kick in the vid is 540 hook, it does actually spin 540 degree in the air.
In the tricktionary, our 540 kick refer to a tornado kick which landed on the kicking leg, but actually the take-off is "cheated", we spin only about 360 degree in air (we take off when we face back, and we land facing back too).
However, a wushu two-legged take off 540 is a real 540, as u take off facing the front, rotating in the air, then land facing ur back.

That's also the reason why ppl always say that a single-legged take off trick is cheated (for instance, the 540 hook kick in the vid is also called "cheated 720").
