I can, but it shows nothing, they are a very poor indicator of strength, as the ROM is very limited

I can almost do them.

no one said it's about strength, it's more of a balance problem. I can't do them.

not sure y ur asking, but i can, clapping handstand pushups are cooler though, even if the rom is more limited

Just curious. Makes for interesting conversation. Clapping will be step two for me.

And for whoever said it's not about strength, you hit that nail on the head. If we're talking strength then yeah, I've been able to them against a wall for a while. Doing them free standing is the difficult part.

Is it possible to start these from a stabilized headstand, pushing up into a handstand, then going back down into a headstand as one rep, and consider them handstand pushups? It still requires stability....

Most of the time when I do them against a wall I end up not touching anything haha..

If I try to do them in an open space I fail to keep balance though.

Technically a headstand is done with your head and hands forming a triangle for stability, so if you were to push up from there you would be off balance. But if you had the balance for an even-planed headstand (hands and head all in a line) then yeah you could conceivably do that.

7 days.

There aren't really any criteria for the proper RoM in a handstand pushup. For some it's the head, for some they elevate their hands and and them at shoulder level with upper arms at sides like with a military press. All approaches are good I guess.

Since you do have the strength, I guess holding handstand isometrically at different positions could be helpful, along with doing controlled eccentrics.

That being said, I can't do them, I can't even hold a handstand, lol.

they are easy, just engage your glutes and grip the ground

Balance = strength haha.

If you can't sustain yourself in a certain position for a long time, guess what? Whatever muscles holding you in that position aren't strong enough to.

I can do 10-15 without a wall. Im working on elevated ones on a couple of books, cant do as many there but working up to 10. I am doing a lot of handbalancing, and I am currently thinking about making an in-depth handbalancing tutorial to post on here. It would be covering normal handstands and variations, l-sit-handstand presses, 1 arm balancing, and general pointers to mastering handstands. Would anyone be interested?

tips on one arm balance would be helpful. that shit is too damn hard and I have not been working on it as much as i should have been

1 arm balance is hell. Takes a shitload of practice. I have gotten quite consistent on my 1 arm balance(I consider "consistent" 10 sec+) now after a lot of training I have decided to make a tutorial on handstands and I will give a lot of pointers about 1 hand balance in it. I guess I will upload in chunks, so the 1 hand will be one of the last and most comprehensive sections.

Not exactly... they could be strong enough, but you're not recruiting them properly for that complex movement.
