View Full Version : Which way to go ?

So, I've been tricking for 1.5 years now, from scrap. As in, my body had no conditionning before.
At the moment I can do very basic stuff such as 540 and aerial. I've developped some muscle through it but still have some unneeded bodyfat.
I do not have the necessary lifestyle (and willpower) to go through such dedicated conditionning as Juji (I live in a boarding school, eating right is very hard/costly, no access to a gym)
I'm hesitating for 2 things : getting slimmer or continuing eating normally and developping more muscle, since from what I've understood you can't do both.
My primary goal is tricking and my secondary goal is getting a better physique.
What do you think ?

Well, what kind of physique are you thinking of?

We don't really know anything about you; height, weight etc.
But assure that you can't go wrong with conditioning. Without saying too much; BULK, continue to eat and train and keep practising tricks/kicks/stretching etc.

You might wanna do some aerobic training like running to lose fat.

Just keep tricking, and eating as healthy as you are able to.
I would start bulking before you start to lose weight, but if you dont have access to a gym, can you buy weights? if not just do simple things like squats, sit-ups, press ups. They wont do a lot becuase you don't have any weights but if you can i would sugest investing in some.

Stocky and muscular.

That's what I'm doubting. Losing fat or bulking more ? Wesker suggests bulking, you suggest the opposite.
Just keep tricking, and eating as healthy as you are able to.
I've gone through several "test" periods each of them focusing on ONE of those:
1 : eating well and lots of leg work/other muscles a bit
2 : just tricking lots and not caring much about the rest
3 : losing fat throught HIIT/cardio
1 improved my condition, which is nice aesthetically but hasn't been felt a lot on tricking (but maybe that's because I need to do more !)
2 has made my "noob" tricks very easy and clean (aerial, tornado, bkick) but I've not landed new moves at all (or extremely slowly - 1 year for a 540) because I seemed to lack the power necessary to land them. This is the "test period" that lasted the longest : around 1 year total.
3 I've never gone through a lot since 1 seemed more important to me. But I'm considering it since the two previous strategies yielded results which seemed mediocre (apparent stagnation)

Thanks for the tips on the weight training. I'll try to buy some. And about the bulking, well, i've explained already.

Sorry for being too imprecise. I'll try to post pictures/stats tomorrow !

Well you mentioned unneeded body fat and the fact that u cant get the best nutrition just means that you would put on more unneeded body fat through bulking. Working rigorous cardiovascular activity along with bulking and lifting will make you lose some body fat.
I don't see how suggesting cardio is saying the opposite. At the same time you mentioned bulking up you also said you had unneeded body fat. Its totally possible to do cardio and bulk at the same time, because guess what: The 3000+ kcal/day that you eat when bulking is not all protein....surprise surprise

You should start experimenting sexually with the other boys in your school. Treat it as an aerobic activity. Fat loss is soon to follow.

You really don't know what you're talking about.

Training cardiovascularity won't do shit to your fat levels, certanly not aerobic exercise, it won't even help his tricking at all.
Its totally possible to do cardio and bulk at the same time
It is.

What are you trying to say here? If you're trying to imply that a great portion of his calories comes from fat and that it will make him fatter, you're very very very wrong.
You gain weight by eating more calories than you consume. Eating too much will result in fatgain, but that's from excessive energy being stored as bodyfat and has nothing to do with your P/C/F-ratio.
