I made this tutorial. I talk about some shit like bkicks and twistrounds and shurikentwists and and hypertwists and hyperhooks and doubletwists. Now maybe people will STFU with their silly-ass questions and bullshit "Why Can't I Doubletwist?" Threads

download link would be pretty awesome.... but the tut was really really good, covers a load of great moves with a load of tips and makes the original b-twist very easy to learn
+2 for the massive burp, great tut :good:

Sick man, epic tutorial.
Inase b-twist rounds and insane hyperhooks! So sexual!
But alot of your doubles seem to be like / man =|
Tho I know you can level them, cause I`ve seen countless doubles from you perfect, but like the ones in the tutorial were like /. Mega props for just doing it like that tho haha wtf sickness!
<3
dave, great tutorial! loved the commentary and just the overall feel of it!
i'll get around to actually following what you say sooner or later, lol

nice tut! very funny ;) although i landed the double btwist on my first or second try, and i could only do a btwist before  but yeah, i've always thought twisting was easy, so i guess it came natural to me :) the hyperhook you did was actually superfelpful to me ;) cus i don't really chamber and it becomes something like the "this isn't a kick" thing you showed ;) so yeah, thanks alot ;) and the whole tut was great ;)

oh forgot to mention, that first hyper-hook would kill children and put chuck norris's round house kick to shame. BRAVO!
Incredibly helpful. This tut really helped my btwist. Much <3 and thx to you man!

when bkicking and btwisting, you should bend your legs more to get more lift, and you need to keep your legs alot straigher.

I liked the hypertwist advice. I wish I thought of it like that when I was learning it. I had a lot of trouble making that adjustment.

thanks for the advice
:dead:
First of all, i might be misunderstanding the meaning of ur post and i apologize in advance if i am wrong. BUT, why u would give such attitude to the person giving u advice, he was clearly right about ur legs being bent. Second of all when u said:" if ur hyperhooks are low and ugly DONT do doubletwists." Guess whose hyperhooks are low, slanted and ugly? Ur intention of putting up a tutorial was originally good but i think u r thinking too highly of urself.
Dave C
Oct-27-07, 08:12 PM
Welp, I guess I shouldn't be doing doubletwists then
The tutorial is supposed to be helpful for people who ask the same questions repeatedly. If you don't find it helpful, or if my advice is somehow nullified by my poor form, then don't bother leaving bullshit comments on my youtube page.
I trick how I want

I thought he was simply doing an "lol?"
in response to
"You should bend your legs. But you need to keep em straighter"
which is funny.

I think he was talking about bending the legs more on the dip, and keeping them straight during the trick, which is how they are supposed to be done in wushu and we all know that wushu btwists pwn.
he...i dont really know wat to say because whilst i was watching it i was thinking to myself...omg FINALLY sumone is teaching this right!
but then a lot of wat Dave did wasnt reflected in his demonstration, such as not being horizontal..[but of course we all know that he can do it alot better and as he sed its not like he had much prep for making the tut]
I hope ppl dont react like sum ppl have in saying "zomg u sed to do [blah] but when u did it u werent doing it urself"... because everything his sed is good advice...so stfu and jus listen =]
Id like to add sumthing if i could tho.... one way i found that may help in landing the doubletwist on one leg is thinking of a hyperhyperhook..dont feel the need to make the kick more than horizontal but think about landing on that kicking leg..it worked for me :wicked:
stop trying to give dave c tips on his btwist.
go learn to trick fags.

out of interest how long were you working on your hyperhooks? you did an assssload of hypertwists in your old samps but i don't think i saw you hyperhooking like you do now till your recent series of samps

Haha preciiseelyyy. If you can't notice, the entire time I'm literally struggling to keep within the range of the camera, typically I use a lot more room but I was basically at half-power for fear of not getting the trick in the shot (I wound up having to splice in a few shots to account for me not getting the entire trick first try)
Uhm, Shen, I didn't really have an acceptable hyperhook until about a year before I released Act III, so it really hasn't been that long. I had a LOT of trouble with them before that because I was refusing to pivot my hips back over on landing
K-Slash, it's all about the punch. You gotta JUMP like a mofo off your left leg
Simon, lulzthnx
ahh dave i think you've opened my eyes to the world of hyper hooks, i'll have to show you some, they've improved loads recently and have helped me get loads closer to doubles.
one thing iw as wondering, is for someone who is comfortable with double twists, does the feeling of cheat 720 twists feel just as natural/easier ? or would you say its a lot different in comparison to a double twist ?

I fucking hate cheat720twists
My legs go all crazy like Chris Devera's, but I land mine low instead of beautifully
Ooh in totally unrelated news my buddy Steve can swingthru cheat7twists (sampluur coming sooooon!)
yuuusss !! thats something i've been wanting to see for ages !
and i know what you mean about c7twists, although i landed it for the first time today out of a hook which gave me a pleasant suprise... it's just a trick where i have no aerial awareness whatsoever in, nothing like btwists.

Double twists feel like a huge spot and wrench and twisttttttttttttttttttttttt. Cheat720twists feel like one...turn, really. Cheat720twists are so fucking easy compared to doubletwists to me. Once you get the aerial awareness for it, you'll realize that the cheat720twist can be simplified to a cheat step up, up and look over, and then twisting over like a b-twist. From there, you can just fall out of them.
Double-twists...no sir, you've gotta power through it the whole time.

hahaha i feel so differently.. i can neva judge how high i am with a c7t and i cant spot the ground either.. its also probably because my cheat setup isnt very good
and like dave C sed.. my leg also go all crazy warped aswell..worse than in my doublebtwists...and i cant seem to ever keep them closed (im such a slut)...

yes ! haha its soo good to hear other people with these problems ! it's like the c720 twist has so much torque you cant bring your legs together >.<

as much as i like dave's btwist round and hyperhook, i cant really say that i like his regular bkick or btwist... they just dont look... good :eh:
i guess i know that people CAN do better variations when they're flatter (eg bubba, juji) so theres no real reason to cheat it by being at 45'.
Still, at the end of the day dave can still doubletwist haha

for the record, i don't consider a regular btwist a trick, i consider it a transition
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7u_xFsVW9Xw
yeah i noticed that, after a while of doing swingthroughs the motion of the btwist just becomes something you dont think about when you swing it into something

Nahhhhh man, that's the problem! People over-estimate this move so much! Think about being tight during the move, it becomes much easier. In most twists, you only think about the twist. In the cheat720twist, think about keeping the legs tight too. It helps the move happen faster.

ok granted with some of the tricks in the tutorial the leg didn't kick up as high as it should resulting in a btwist variation that wasn't completely horizontal but it doesn't matter.
The advice there was valid and extremely useful. Making tutorials and having to do one variant straight after the other amidst talking can be difficult. The whole point is an example, not THE example. You guys have seen that dave is capable of having fully horizontal btwist variations, so what if he didn't do them as well from cold in the video?

Agreed :good:
First tutorial I've seen where someone actually broke down a b-twist and it's variations. I'm really appreciative of this tutorial and look forward to applying the technique to my b-twists. But, in all, I'm just glad somebody decided to do this.

Go suck a cock....Dave C. doesn't care what you have to say. It's been discussed in this thread already: his btwists can be straight if he wants them to be 'cuz his mastery of btwists is surely greater than yours.
