Does it have any nutritional value? Safe for human consumption?

Is AIDS classified as nutritional?

No nutrition. It'll probally make you vomit. Maybe worse.

I pose the same question with fecal matter.

Well the "liquid" blood in the body is pretty much 92% of water and the rest is basically just proteins.

Blood is somewhat nutritious, I don't know about you gays, but here we have some dishes based on animal blood, "bloodpudding" for example, pretty much just boiled pig blood along with some mead and stuff for consistency and flavouring.

I've had that stuff before.

My Mum called it 'black pudding', and didn't tell me what it was until after I had eaten it.

Everyone eats it, when I was a kid we'd even get it in school.

That's the English and Irish version of it. I bet you have all the other dishes aswell, since there's nothing remarkable about them anyway, bloodsausage, bloodcakes, bloodbread etc, they were all more common in the old days when people were poorer, they didn't waste any part of the animal.

Blood does contain nutrients, but yeah you'd vomit, and due to carrying human-compatible pathogens and stuff, not safe at all. Plus if you drink it you'll never get into the Temple.

Fecal matter contains enormous amounts of bacteria, it's not really safe to eat.

*Edit* I like blood pudding, though I like pölsa alot more. YUM!

Ah that reminds of haggis when in Scotland the royalty ate the good parts of the animals and the rest was given to the people in the slums. So they made the most of it and added oats and other crap. This is the biography of haggis!

Yeah I know that as black pudding too. It's pretty nice provided you get the decent quality stuff.

Bloodpudding and pölsa (pronounced 'pöscha' ;)), both dishes are quite simple and nice to have whenever. I often bring these (especially bloodpudding) with me to work along with a ridiculous amount of blueberrys!

"Pöscha"? Where the hell in Sweden do you live? You sound like Zlatan trying to pronounce "Porsche" or something...

Patrik

I live kind of in the middle (hälsingland), but anyway, long ago when the dish was born/discovered/made its way to sweden it took the name of what I said. It's the modern Sweden that changed it because it was too much of a hassle/ugly to keep. I've been brought up with saying like that and so has my parents and theirs, etc. Höhö!

It's pronounced "PÖLSA" for crying out loud. Pöscha sounds like some kind of '70s moped.

Patrik
Oct-23-07, 06:31 AM
Haha, I know, it's fucking ooooold  And tbh, I don't say pöscha, I do say pölsa. It's so easy to get people annoyed with saying pöscha. Food fight!

What a wonderful tradition of your family, you must be really proud.

It's not a tradition, shut up. It's just fugly old people around here that insists on pronouncing it like fagets.

I went to church once. They poured wine into a fat glass, raised it above their head, put it down, put a handkerchief over it, said some mumbo jumbo, and then it was blood. They said if I partake of this blood I will live forever. I drink blood all the time time now and I haven't died yet, so, based on that, I surmise that it must have infinite nutritional value.

People who do not regularly drink blood would surely vomit from it.

I drink the blood of virgin women. It keeps me youthful.

Ashtar
Nov-01-07, 07:55 AM
Bloody mary took it from virgin women because she was female, if you're male you'd take blood of virgin men. In which case... *scampers away*

You've been targeted in the night
By violent mercenaries.
Your identity's been confused
With one that looks like you.
You're a simple man living life.
You are an electrician.
But there's a bounty on your head,
A billion unmarked traveler's checks.

Run!

Find your way deep into the woods.
The dogs can smell your path.
Try to find your way out of this,
There seems to be no chance.
Bounty hunters closer to you;
Start to remember back
When you studied biology
Back in your high school class.
Wait now, what did they say?
About the human body and
proportions of things.
Blood is an energy conductor.
I am full of that. All I need is an outlet.

They're getting closer,
But now you have a plan.
Lead them to the generator
Where there's solid land.
The concrete floor will do just fine
And electric outlets
Open up your veins and splash the blood
and hit the power-lines.

BLOODTROCUTED!
BLOODTROCUTED!

(X2)
You'll be BLOODTROCUTED!
You'll be BLOODTROCUTED!
You'll be BLOODTROCUTED!
You'll be BLOODTROCUTED right NOW!

Enemies stand dead in your blood.
The stench of melting skin.
Every one of them hair on end,
Their eyes exploded in.
You stand with your arm bleeding still;
You cannot stop the flow.
Though you are the victor tonight,
Your time has come to GO.

Your time has come to GO!

Wait now, what did they say?
About the human body and
Proportions of things.
Blood is an energy conductor.
I am full of that. All I need is an outlet.

BLOODTROCUTED.

It depends a lot on whose blood it is. If the person is known to carry HIV, malaria, hepatitis anthrax, or any other of the millions of bacteria and viruses out there, then no. Otherwise, go for it, though it doesn't digest well. Red and white blood cells will be horribly destroyed by stomach acid, but the trace amounts of glucose and some of the larger hormones present in blood will remain in tact. Be sure not to consume cold. Ruins the flavour :good: :vampire:
