Well i fucked my hip up. It feels tight, and hurts when i try to use it.I don't see any swelling, but ice is the usual treatment for injuries. So heat, ice, or both?
Thanks.

Wouldn't heat relax your muscles (I think it would work for your situation), and ice reduce swelling?
I'm not too sure though don't hold it to me.
Depends if you want increased blood flow or not. Heat promotes blood flow and ice decreases it. That is one part of it at least.
Unfortunately I can't really make the call sitting across the Atlantic and not knowing much on how you feel or how it looks. How did it get to this?

you should know there is very little actual research on the effects of hot vs cold treatment on injuries...and what little there is often conflicts. you can go different places and get different answers from doctors.
essentially its a choice you have to make, but when i injure myself i normally go for ice.

Ice should help keep swelling down, which will reduce the pain and with time bring back function. Heat should come in when your rehabing, to help loosen the muscles and bring in circulation. Both should promote healing. Go to a doctor if you think you need to, that's the best option for treatment.

Oh yeah i forgot about the tip that says to use heat after a few days. Thanks
Ill probably use ice for now, and by thursday use heat. I don't think its that serious, but it may be denial. Hopefully ill be ok in 5 days - 1 week.

Usually its a good idea to use ice for a few days or until any swelling is gone. Then you can try alternating ice and heat. Ice for 10 minutes, heat for 10, and so on.. always end with ice. If any swelling returns or develops, use ice exclusively. :)
