I love how he just drops the bar into his hands. I'd be surprised if that guy could talk afterwards...

aaaaaaaaa
I like how the bencher's thumbs are on the same side as his fingers. In other words he has no support if the bar would start drifting south.

Some powerlifters use that grip for benching.
exactly Rahf. It wasn't the spotters fault, but rather that the lifter is a dumb fag.

Which doesn't make it any better or safer.

It looked like the spotter didn't want to touch the bar haha.

The spotter let go of the bar for a second.

Actually, isn't that what happened? I kept pausing and unpausing it to see, and it looked like the bar slipped south after the trainer dropped it on the bottom of his palms.

Or maby the guy didn't brace against it (that's why it's stupid to have spotters lift the weight without you pushing at the same time).

Haha thats probably true. Wouldn't someone lifting that much at least be smart enough to do that though? It probably wasn't his first time lifting lol
That way of gripping the bar is fine.

They're both at fault obviously.
The spotter for treating the bar like it's made of AIDS...
and
The lifter for not putting forth most of the effort of lifting it off the supports in the first place.
Fuck 'em both.
haha, stupid. :dead:

It almost seemed like the spotter was the only guy holding the weight up. I think he just freaked out the lifter. If someone jerks away from you, you jerk away too, instinctive?
What is the purpose of a thumbless benching grip? I can't imagine the benefits being worth the risks.
