Sorry for all you dudes that have probably answered this kind of question before. I don't know the names of all the muscles but whatever. I was wondering why some muscles tend to cramp up when I do certain stretches. What's the reason for that? And if anyone could please let me know how to stop it from happening that would be awesome. Thanks!

Muscles can cramp up when you throw yourself into the stretch. Take your time and gradually increase it, don't increase too much at once. It can also be an issue of nutrition.

Scientificly its called the Myotatic Reflex. Its just a safety measure your body does when you go into a stretch to quickly or suddenly. Your body cramps and contracts the muscle to prevent tearing. You just have to wait it out until it relaxes then eventually your Myotatic Reflex will develope more tollerance to stretching. AND holy shit I just realized that Im talking to Scalco. Lol. Nice light break in your parents bedroom. (Yeah Ive seen the video)

The stretched muscles are cramping? If so, that's just the reflex Shadow described.
If it's other muscles, like those which oppose the stretched ones, then it's just because they're shortened by the position. Some people get tight hips when they go for the side splits for instance. This could be avoided by changing the alignment of the joints subtly while stretching, or by using a different position to stretch the muscles.

What happened to it though? And I wish I could do a 540 on my bad side that well Im just to lazy to practice. I can barely do a Tornado but with practice I could get used to it. For swing throughs Im going to have to learn how to do a Gainer on my bad swingthrough leg.

What the fuck are you talking about? Right now all I fucking care about is his knee because no one has told me yet. So you shut your god damn mouth and quite trying to start a war over this fucking forum. You have no right to be a dick, but I guess you are what you eat. Fuck off or I will NEVER let up. You always are the one to try and burn someone but. Beware the toes you step on today because they might be connected to the foot that will kick your ass tommarow.
