View Full Version : I injured my butt (no joke).

Hey,

So I was deadlifting a few weeks back and was pushing the 1RM and clearly went a little too hard and since then have had some pain in my left glute. The pain is dull and the only thing that really triggers it is running with long strides and doing the deadlift motion.

It's not a terrible pain but it's been a few weeks.

Any suggestions or thoughts on what it might be or what I might be able to do about it?

I missed a snatch by pulling to hard, landed on my ass. Then I tried again and made it. My coach started talking to me when I had it overhead, so I focused on him while I started to drop the weight forgetting that I had to back up first.

In conclusion, I now have one big fat bruise on half my ass and a nasty scar on my forehead.

Do you have access to a cable harness for your foot to do light-weight kickbacks? You can intermittantly use it to gauge your health and recovery and promote circulation once the pain has died down.

yeah i figured i'd just wait it out. literally the only motion that hurts is deadlifting... I work in a kitchen, so there is a fair bit of lifting big buckets around and shit in a very deadliftish movement but i'll just avoid that for a while and hope that my butt will one day recover from all of that horrible but AWESOME buttsechs
