View Full Version : CHECK IT! (before and after)
Hey, so I've been trying my darndest to gain weight and muscle for the past.... hrm 8 months or so. Anyway I actually compared it with a picture from about a year ago and was shocked to see that there has been some change! hoorah.
Here's a picture for reference. (the first one was from a photography thing I was doing for a friend).

Like I say, pretty exciting. I've been eating near or at 5000 calories a day and apparently my metabolism is fucking mental as it has still been a very slow process.
Training has been a pretty standard periodization routine with lots of focus on compound excersises.
I've always lacked general strength but things are moving up slowly but surely.
My current maxes are:
Deadlift - 250
bench - 155
squat - 155
I'm 6'5 and now 190lbs. wahoo.

I am so proud of you. Keep up the good work. :good:
Good work man, I'd say work on your legs and back more, you don't seem to have much muscle in either of them judging by your squat and deadlift maxes/the pictures. Balanced physique! Keep up ze good work!

Great improvement!
How is your bench max and squat max the same?
rofl, good question. I started training bench before squats when I didn't know jack about what I was going. Just trying to catch it up now. I'm sure that'll shoot my weight up a lot as well as my legs are like tiny pins. Very, very long tiny pins.

It's great when you realise that all your hard training and eating is actually paying off.
Keep up the good work.

I think if the one on the left were to turn 90 degrees they would turn invisible because they're so thin.
Awesome job! :good:
yeah i was 2d for a while. it's cool for doing ninja stuff because you can just disspear with relatively no difficulty, but I feel like I'm ready for the challenge of finding other ways to dissapear.

looking very "men's health". haha
Honestly I do not believe you're eating anywhere near 5000 calories on a daily basis.
Do you have any goals now? What are you trying to achieve?

If I looked at an old picture of me looking like a stick I would be so proud of myself, seeing as I did nothing to make the gains to this average yet much better body.
Sorry if my grammar sucks, I'm tired and going to bed soon.

I'm eating quite close to 5000 if not over it some days.
Diet is:
Morning: cytogainer shake
2nd: 1.5cups oats with protein and fruit
3rd: 3 eggs, toast, chicken bacon
4th: pita grilled with chesse, sweet potatoe, mushrooms, onions, sundried tomatoes
5th: post workout cytogainer
6th: curried rice with tempeh and vegetables
7th: 1 cup oats
8th: cytogainer
The 4th and 6th kind of blow because I work at a vegetarian restaurant and not to say that there aren't protein rich sources available but tofu is a little too processed for my stomach to handle and I can't even take too much tempeh.
It's very strange though, since I started eating this much my body seems to have compensated a lot. My body temperature has gone up noticeably and I sweat a lot. It feels like my body is actually working overtime just to burn off the extra calories... But I will win this battle.

Trained athletes sweat more than a normal couch potato. Your body has gotten more effective at cooling itself.
