Okay, i would like to start going to the gym one day, but what should be the right age to start? (I'm 15) I've seen people who started going to the gym too early, and they are fucking short.
Anyone?

Their height hasn't anything to do with the fact that they are working out. We can't give you any tips, it's all up to you to read up on it.
In England you have be 16 to join the fitness gyms, but it varies in countries. So you'd have to go into your local gym and find out yourself. Once you've found that out. You can start when you feel need.

You shouldn't workout extensively with weights until you've stopped growing. But moderate/normal use is nothing to worry about.

THANK GOD, that was the exact answer i was looking for. THANK U
Resistance training does not stunt growth. If that was the case then all football players, hockey players, tree-climbers, basketball players etc etc be really damn short since these activities put huge stress on given parts of the body.
It is a myth, let it die.

Really Rahf? I know what you say here is pretty much always right so you are probably right, but I always thought it wasn't a myth, so much as an exaggeration. Like it only stunts it about 1/2 to 1 inch of your total height....making nutrition more important for height anyways.

As I've stated above, if it was true then this would apply to many other sports as well. The people who dig deep and get degrees within anatomy and training all say the same thing, it is a myth.
Be careful with max-lifts, use proper technique and form.

If you worry about being short. Start with a light weight lifting, and when you fell that you are stronger add the weight. Dont be ashamed if you are taking a 3pound dumbell.
IF you over lift the limit you will damage your body and you wont be able to grow taller.
Just go easy and relax.
Dont force yourself too much. Using Too much strength can damage your body.

You should absolutely be ashamed if you are lifting 3lbs dumbbells.

You have to be merely 12 years of age to workout at my gym. I started when I was 11. I didn't really start being hardcore until I was 14. I'm almost 16 now. I'm now 5'10-11 and still growing.

One pound = 0,454kg
One kilogram = 2,2lbs
It's not a myth that weightlifting can stunt your growth, haha, it's just that no one on this forum will probably ever reach the amount of intensity required for it to happen at their young age.

Weighttraining will not stunt your growth. However, steroids will.
