i cant to a masterswipe becose of that

EVEN A DAM MASTERSWIPE!!!

my tornado looks more like a jumping roundhose :\
and i keep doing bend knee on B-Kick cose i dont want to fall :\

even that i know i wont fall, and that i know i can make it, and even if i will fall it wont hurt, i still cant do it :\

i tryed falling without the tricks, and it didnt helped

pls help :\

sorry for my english :=\

BTW: How do you do your 540 setup?

can you post a vid of your attempts?
we can't really help with the fear issue, that's something you have to overcome yourself.

i do my 540 setup like scalco's, like putting all the weight on one foot then rapidly shift all my weigth to my other foot and taking off.

Eh, don't you think that this is the problem of your 540? You'd like to land your tornado kick on both legs before hypering it (IMO), and that's a long way from a jumping roundhouse kick. You're probably bending the legs on the b-kick because of bad flexibility/bad technique. And the masterswipe is probably because of you, not knowing the correct technique...

i cant upload vids cose i dont have a camera

i know thats why i cant do a 540 and i CAN make my lags go right on a b-kick,i did that once, and almost miss the landing since then i just cant, no metter how hard i try :\
anyone have methods to overcome that damn fear?

Without a video, the only advice this forum can offer you is

GROW BAWLZ!

Be confident in the fact that if you die doing a butterfly twist, you'll be a remarkably out-of-the-ordinary statistic

hmm, try using crashmats? but seriously, not to be mean, but if you fail to keep your legs straight on a bkick (which is one of the easyest and non scary tricks out there)because of fear maybe tricking isn't your thing? haha, that was maybe a bit harsh, but yeah, you need to just get over your fear! i can understand it with backflips and such, but not those moves

lol
its not fear of dieing while doing tht, its the idea of falling :\

and i know that i need to land on bouth feet on tornado, but HOW????

:juji::dead:

WOW, heve you ever notice that when doing this -> :juji: smile it says "juji" ;)?

*****WHATS THE POINT OF GROWING BALLZ IF IM GONA BREAK THEM TRICKING???????????

How old are you? And if you grow ballz, you'll likely land more shit than you think. Buttt...if you're 13 years old and have no confidence, then you're pretty much screwed.

Yeah I'm with stefanuz on this one. I useually like to post advice for people but you sound like a real pansy. Your not afriad of dieing but failing. So that means your afraid of impacting whatever surface your doing tricks on. I'll tell you this now every tricker on this site has failed at a move and landed on there side or neck or elbow. It's part of the sport. If your afraid of falling three feet out of the air onto the ground then you better just quit now, This is not for you! I was tricking yesterday and probably failed more than 50 times. That means my ass hit the ground 50 or more times for that one session and I hardly even tried any new tricks just combos and stuff. Failing is something that you cannot be afraid of in tricking. You can be afraid of doing a trick that is inverted because you don't have proper technique and you don't want to land on you neck and seriously injure yourself. You Cannot be afraid of failing! Just go out there and throw yourself into some double leg or sideflip attempts. With your lack of confidence you certainly won't land them and will therefor start to slowly get over your fear of failing, or simply quit tricking and stop creating these fear threads because theres not a god damn person on this forum who cares.

Also one last note, going out and purposly falling on the ground will not help you get over you fear of failing at a trick. It will make you less afraid of the actual impact but not less afraid of failing whatever trick you attempting and falling in an uncomfortable position. Come to think of it your the only person I've ever heard of purposely falling on the ground, just seems silly to me.

lawl I agree with Ryu Suijin.
The older you get, the scarier will be to (example) backflip imo

This is your fear, face it and defeat it. We cannot help you with this, so the best tip I can give you is crash. Crash btwist countless times and you will see that its not scary and you will not die doing it.
But still, its your choice to make.

stefanuz
Nov-14-07, 08:41 AM
heh, yeah, it's like inverted tricks can be scary, cus you can get hurt, but stuff like btwist and 540s shouldn't be scary at all! cus you'll only land on your side/back or stomach, and it's not tricks that give you much air either, so you won't fall that far.

now on that landing with both feet on the tornady you just got to bring your kicking leg down faster. it's hard to give advice if you don't post a vid

well, i took your advices and went out there to try a masterswipe, i really pushed to it, dam, i think i broke my nose :\

well, i guess the right way is to just jump to it, but first, ill find something better to land on then a dead grass

tnx, i think

BTW: im 16, almost 17

aiit good to hear :P but just so you know, if you think you'll end up injured, you most likely will :P you got to give all on every trick you try and don't hold back, and make sure you watch tutorials and vids so you know and understand the proper technique of the tricks you're performing ;) good luck

Errr dude, Masterswipes are NOT so easy. At least not for me, I still cant do them. I think you should learn to 360crescent, aerial, frontflip first :)
Just take it easy, you wont learn all the tricks in one day...or week.

Masterswipes are ugly tricks anyhow. Just... yeah. Get yourself accustomed to crashing, because it's going to happen quite a bit.

If you think they're ugly, you can't do them right. They're a real freaking beauty if you do them correct.

Well I don't agree on the masterswipe thing they're easy haha, but the principle is correct! If you just can't do something, take a break from it and try some other stuff.

To be honest, if you're too scared to throw a fucking bkick... just quit now.

Grow balls or quit now. Your only two choices.

hahahaha, what an awesome crash!! right after you've done the "dip" and are going to twist you should wrap your arms in, so you'll spin faster, and it gets more controllet aswell ;)

Dude, you did not bail. When you bail you pull out of the trick you are doing and try to reduce impact as much as possible. Bailing is realizing halfway through a trick that you are going to fail and protecting yourself, or becoming scared halfway through the trick and attempting to keep your face from hitting the ground by throwing your hands and consequently your body as well towards the ground. What you did was fail at executing the landing by not bringing your chest up and legs down at the end. Not so much a bail as a flat out crash landing.

to be honest you're just being picky :eh: if i fail to land something i call it a bail, i expect most people do.....you just wasted time telling someone what 1 definition of bail is....wtf

Bail does not equal fail. If you commit to a trick and still don't land it then you did not bail, you simply failed to land. I thought that this information was pertinent because the thread itself is about a guy being afraid to fail when he does a trick and prevents him from tricking to his full potential. Being able to bail does not make one any less afraid of failing, it makes them less afraid of injury.

Look dude, what I have done before to get over fear is just to drink a few large energy drinks. You will be so full of energy that your "nice" b kick will be a dangerously awesome b kick and if your anything like me you should have little to no fear. hahaha dont kill yourself
