Alright, so i feel I have the rite technique and everything... but i when i do it im like yea ive got it this time..
Then i stop and come down hard on my hands and hurt them: :'(
Any advice my good people?

Your not gettin around enough if your landing hard on your hands, so jump! Also try slipping your off hand in your pants then do it and force yourself not to touch down

not much you can do if you credit yourself for having the correct technique and still failing at it, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE !!
harsh i know. but just by being able to j-step wont get you a gainer first try unless your juji in which cause i'll be quiet now.

I had the same problem, but i could do the aerial, but very low, the i tried to do it liek juji... run abit, put my hands down like im diving, and jumping realy hard and pushing my other leg back, and now i can land perfectly, even standing aerial, all you got to do is dive and the push your arms up. Look how jujimufu puts his hands down and then pulls thm up:
