View Full Version : Tornado/540: Do you use a crescent or roundhouse?

Yeah, so as the topic says, I was just wondering...
When you do a tornado or 540 kick, do you tend to use a roundhouse or a crescent? I tend to use an inside crescent kick.
Also, just wondering, what are the advantages/disadvantages for doing your kick each way?

I say crescents in 540s suck major balls, though they might be easier for some. Round kick 540s look more powerful and generally better, but are harder to do.

I think roundhouses look cleaner and faster for 540's. But alot of people can pull off sick 5's with crescents.

I dont know, if the one jujimufu does is inside crescant than i think i do round house because i jump then kick, i dont just bring my leg through. I still cant 540, but im sooo close!!!:juji:

In my opinion, crescents are much more powerful and look better.

I use crescents for normal 540s and rounds for jacknives.

I use rounds for my 540's. They tend to bring my hips round faster and help jacknives a lot.

Crescent! Round looks worse IMO.

I think crescents are only useful for gyros.

But they look better than the roundhouse version of 540 IMO.

In the end it's all personal preference so this thread is basically pointless.
