Well, I know that i should tuck my non-kicking leg in, but... How the hell can I get that f cking height on them:ogre:!?

Your technique is pretty good. Just practice it and it'll get easier.

kudos to you.

Your problem is very easy to fix actually. Your form on the tornado and 540 attempt are actually very solid. Good job. Yes you're right you need to bend in the nonkicking leg but most importantly you aren't chambering your kicking leg!

You're swinging it across in both vids completely straight. What you're doing is only making the kick harder. If you brought it up slightly bent and then snapped your foot out fast and hard as you kicked your invisible target, you'd be doing what we call chambering the kick and as a result the kick will be A LOT faster, more powerful, and you'll get your kicking leg that much faster to land on the ground, therefore making it a lot easier. The rest of your technique is good enough that I think simply doing a properly chambered kick will allow you to land it.

Like I said, it's an easy fix if you focus on that. Think about bringing up your nonkicking leg up straight and your kicking leg up bent, then quickly swap them so that your nonkicking leg is bent and your kicking leg is straight. That's really the best way to describe the motion. Go get that 540!

Juji doesn't chamber it, Scalco chambers it...

Okay, thanx for your advice, will try to chamber it tomorrow:juji:. Anyway I still think that my 540's are way too low:eh:.

Juji has so much raw explosive power that he doesn't need to chamber it. For everyone else, whipping the kick works a lot better than swinging it through straight.

Why are you only making a judgement based on 2 people? Watch most good 540s and you're going to see an obvious chamber. It only makes sense. It's simple physics. You can't get nearly as much speed and power swinging a straight leg as you would snapping it out. Just do it.

Also, 540 height comes from pushing off the kicking leg hard, swinging up your arms high, and lifting up that nonkicking leg as high as possible. I think your height is sufficient to land it, you just need to do what I described in my last post with your legs.

Okay i watched some good 540's and I realize that only Juji doesn't chamber it (you were right Swartz:smile:) .
When I'm trying to chamber the 540 i always do a bad tornado kick. Maybe just because I'm thinking too much about chambering it?
Should I keep trying to chamber tornados/540s:ogre:?
