Hi. Thats my first post bla bla bla, and thx all for reading.
I never tried to do a backflip, i looked (excuse me if i dont remember all the irregular verbs, im spanish :dead:) lots of videos, tutorials and all that stuff. I really analyzed them, i worked on the techinque, the stup, the jump, the coordination, and also tucking in the air (without trying to go backwards), and i have a question before i just attempt them (ill try without spotter). How the fuck u do to start going backwards? I mean, in all backflips i seen, ppl just tucks when theyr upper body (in some cases all the body)are nearly horizontal to the ground, like this

So, i mean, if you jump up, and go up with ur arms, how are you supposed to get that position? Whats the correct motion? When u throw ur arms up, u jump and throw ur upper body a little back, while ur head does that too and ur legs begin to tuck at same time, or what.
Please, i really want to clarify that point after attempting it, maybe i just go out and got that motion, but i want to have it 100% clear on my mind.
Thats the method i used to learn my other tricks, double leg, b-twist and aerial-barani-axe2aerial etc: study them really hard, and i got them all like in 5 mins, but with the backflip is the problem of the danger, so i prefer go slower with it.
Thx

Hmm.. your basically thinkin about it abit to much, once you have jumped your hardest (straight up) and your up in the air the swinging motion of your arms and you leaning backwards with your upper shoulders and back will make you rotate, the pictures you have used are just the product of doing this, if you try to jump and lean back it will be a failed attempt of a back handspring you need to jump up! :)

Ok thx a lot, so my legs jump up, my arms swing up very hard and that motion will naturally make me start the backwards movement?

yeah pretty much the spinning motion will actually come very natrually tbh but make sure you comit to the jump up and not back! gd luck :)
Shifty it's good that you did all that work, finding out tutorials and what to do and everything. Too many people just come on here and demand to know why they can't backflip and say that they havn't seen any tutorials.

Well, my intrepid young friend, here's what you need to know...
You do need to jump directly up when you begin this move. Once you reach the peak of your jump, you transition your momentum to your tuck by letting your shoulders fall back and essentially kicking your legs up over your head.
Stuff that will kill you:
1. Trying to tilt your head back and looking at the ground.
There's nothing to look at when flipping. Move along, nothing to see here.
2. Arching your back.
A lot of people actually do back flips with arched backs and get away with it...for a little while. Unfortunately, this kills your height and makes your flip very low to the ground.
3. Not using your arms.
God gave you arms for a reason. Use them wisely.

Thx a lot to all m8. Specially tacos, coz he gived me new information: what shoulders should do, and other ppl that re-confirmed me the correct motion. Im going to try them now. I hope i dont break my neck

Omg. I got the techniche, and all the ones i did i falled near my knees or something like that, but i finally landed one on my feet. The first one took me like 15 mins of preparation, but after i saw how easy it is i goed for it. The last i did is the only i landed well, but i was so tired that i prefered to continue another day. Thx all 4 the explanations.
