The only thing that gives you rotation in a proper backflip is bringing up your knees/tucking so if you aren't rotating enough then you simply aren't doing it right. Obviously. It's not just about bringing them up fast, it's about actually keeping them in tight even after you bring them up. If I had to guess what your problem is it's that you're probably opening up early or not quite tucking tight enough. Turn into a ball in the air and stay in that position. If you do it anywhere close to well enough you should land or overrotate. Of course, the more height you have the more time you have to rotate so they go hand in hand.
That's all I'm going to suggest right now. I highly recommend a vid sometime in the near future if you want more accurate help though. Welcome to TT and all that shit.

haha, not TOO sure what your question is...
knees should go to chest
hands either infront or behind knees
and i believe that is all!

Ohhhh i think i understand. well my thoughts whilst doing a back tuck is to tuck knees to to chest whilst looking back. you may find that this makes the hang time that your upside down feel like less, well thats really because you kindah are, but it looks good. you'll just be tucking so tightly that you'll have more time to unwrap!
really though Juji's tutorial on this helped me the most. i recomend reviewing what he says and what he does.
best of luck and welcome to TT!

Yeah get as high as possible and land in the same spot you jumped from, haha.
Basically when I said that I was referring to other kind of flips like whipbacks (no handed back handsprings) where the rotation comes from whipping your body over since you don't do any tucking motion in it.

when you tuck, dont bring your shoulders down too your knees, bring your knees up to your shoulders. and don't throw your head back like peterh said.
