A few weeks ago we started a fight club at my barn every friday. It's really casual and laid back, mostly boxing with gloves and headgear. Here are some of my fights and highlights.

Also a bit of my basic kicks are in there. Feel free to comment and give me tips on those.

Anyways uhh, why practice those basic kicks if you're not gonna use them in the fight? At any rate, the stepover hooks are sorta useless, even for tricking. It seem you need a solid standard spinning hook before you work on variations.
That, and your front kick can be improved by practicing them slowly and low. Get a feel for the motion, and since suddenly your Fight Club Towels now, get a very deeeep chamber. The deeper the chamber the faster the kick.

That was alright Towles, the way you made it was cheesy. But the idea was cool, i sometimes get together with my own friends and we spar with a bit of padding. *not as much as you). But i must say you guys only box, which is a tad boring. Include kicks to the torso and ground fighting to make things a bit more exciting.

It's sad to see everyone flipping out. People someone remind me of domino's, all the same, doing exactly what the domino before them did.

We're going to add take downs and kicks next session. UFC gloves at Dicks sporting goods are decently priced. Though, not everyone will be down for that style.

It's cool seeing those fights from different angles.

Especially Hunter and gage.

I figured people would get all "Pssh, I could take you in real life" and miss the whole fun point of the night. It's just a really fun/casual thing, no money and no anger.

In my opinion i reckon you should think about it Andy. Say your in a fight with some fag and he makes you lose balance and takes you to the ground (hypothetically), thanks to your, and his distinct lack of ability at ground fighting, you will both just uselessly roll around on the ground like gay men. Instead of being able to break his wrist, dislocate his shoulder or choke him out immediately.

When real time martial artists get in real life fights, are they as smooth and controlled as I'd think, or does everyone "scramble" and rush with the adrenaline?

I don't pretend to act like I have any knowledge of martial arts or fighting, so excuse my ignorance for the topic.

(The reason we don't have ground fighting, is because alot of the time it's the strongest man wins, especially with inexperienced fighters like us)

It depends if they get rushed or not. Getting rushed would leave anyone disorientated and stuff, so it would be hard to really compose yourself. But if someone is facing off with one another, then you shoukld expect the Martial ARtist to know what he is doing. Unless of course he is from a mc dojo

There's a point when you freak and your adrenaline kicks in. Then you get rocked or there is a pause and the focus kicks in. I suppose it just depends on how these "real time MAist" trained. If you've never been rocked.. then you'll probably lose your first REAL fight. But yes... MOST of us avoid fighting. MMAists that go looking for fights ARE INDEED meat heads.
