This summer I backpacked Europe for a month [pretty much June] with 4 others, and put together this 70 min documentary about it.

There's no tricks [except a shitty front flip into one of Interlaken's lakes, and a shitty bkick in London], but it's still an alright video. Nothing really crazy, honestly, just a lot of good times.

I'm just posting this for anyone who might be interested [in the editing or otherwise]. :ogre:

It was an interesting trip. I only really knew 2 of the people [the ...skinnier girls] before the trip. I think this video does a pretty job of showing the vibes I got from the trip. It's kind of like a gigantic music video with little bits of conversation here and there. Enjoy.

Intro (http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=iWokeToday&p=r) A good place to start, if you're interested. Also, the soundtrack listing.

Seville Pt 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15a6S8om0us)
Barcelona, Nice (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLmbTMiTW3c) A quickie.
Rome (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVIQbr6JHpc) Getting better. Lots to see.
Venice (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6yYztHKfog) Doesn't really smell that bad.
Interlaken (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlZN5mRPu5o) This one's where it really starts to get good. Hitting my stride editing. Saw the Smashing Pumpkins.
Regensburg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3R_x4EV2cU) Chili Peppers, oh yeah. My favorite segment.
Amsterdam (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5Co42VO7SM) On shrooms for half the footage. The other guy got a hooker, but wouldn't talk about it on film.
Paris (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgFJdKK8r0U) Home stretch. Spent the most time here.
London/Endcap (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKjgBRI0AJ8) Barely missed all the shenanigans from the explosions when leaving. I spent way too much time editing the credits.

A lot more in depth coverage in the youtube notes.

The whole project [my first editing experience, admittedly, and it shows, especially in the beginning] took about 8 days of editing nonstop and a hell of a lot of caffeine, a couple of all-nighters, pretty much the last week of my summer. :juji: I didn't even know how to hold a camera in the beginning. An interesting learning experience for me at the very least. Filming without ever editing, and not knowing what was/wasn't going to work was frustrating, but it turned out pretty well (or well enough) in the end.

I'm in the real world now. This was my last hurrah for awhile. :worry:

Hmmm. Pretty entertaining despite the lack of tricks. I am up to part 6 now. The editing is pretty good for your first time. What program did you use?

For your next project, you must go on a trip around the U.S. for a month and make a 70 min documentary of trickers and their antics!

I would love to do that, but I spent all my money on this trip ,haha.

I used Ulead VideoStudio 11. It was nice and convenient for the most part, but it felt really limiting at times.

I actually didn't trip all that hard. I'd never had wet shrooms before A-dam, and I came up really fast, really hard, threw up a little, but then sailed smoothly for the next 6 hours or so.

It's definitely worth it (the whole trip), and if you get a chance, do it. I was saving money for like 2 years beforehand.
