View Full Version : Gym session 2007/12/16
So I was in the gym yesterday and I trick barefoot after a long time and it was all so easy. I couldn't do good tornado kicks because they turned into the 540 even when I didn't want to. Backflips were easy to do, at the end I was afraid to tuck them(from RO) so I was almost doing layouts. I landed first aerials yesterday. I tried parafuso and I think it was okay (im not sure because i forgot to capture it). Btwists were shit. I fucked up my heel in the combo at 4:05 because mats weren't enough together and then...:dead:
So here is the vid(music is a bit to short but what ever:):

Editing is shit too because I was too lazy to edit it better

Hey man. OK, so you seem to be getting the basics alright. Keep it up. :good:
However, I really did not like this video.
1. You don't have anywhere close to enough moves to warrant a near 5 minute sampler. It was repetitive to the point of nausea.
2. The music does not fit at all.
3. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much slo mo. No one wants to see your every back flip repeated at 50% speed.
So overall, nice work on getting started with tricks... keep it up and keep improving. But think more carefully before you release a vid.

We dont need to se everything in slo mo :)
All clips are in slow mo for my needs. Music: I was just watching how long it is and i know it doesn't fit
Here are some tips if you want any:
For your aerial, try to land with your feet pointing toward the way you came (like you do in a real cartwheel), that way, you will have a much easier time landing them.
keep your arms in on your btwists because you'll spin faster. right now it looks like you have no air-awareness.
you need to go up more on your roundoff backflips. if you can do a standing backflip, you should be able to do a roundoff flashkick easily. try not to travel as far backward as you do.
thnx m8! that was my first attempt on flash kick and I didn't watch any tutorials so I jump like into the bhs/layout and try to kick but... will try more soon.

Yeah, all the slow mo was pretty painful. Next time make two versions, one with slow mo for your needs and one without it to post.
Tips
Back flip:
You've got to set more i.e. delay the rotation because you're going back too early. You should also land in relatively the same spot you started, not 5 feet behind you.
B-twist:
Dip so you can go up otherwise you'll just have a fast rotation and no air. Not dipping will work for a single twist, but you'll need the height you get from dipping if you want to move on to more rotations.
Kicks in general:
Please don't kick at waist level. I think it was a spin outside crescent that you did it on, so make sure you practice your basics too.

Not bad but easy on the slo mo.
Try and keep your aerial in one spot
