View Full Version : Simple tricks that scare you the most?
What trick scares you the most even though you know you should be able to do them?
For me, it's btwists, s/t anything, and hook to btwist. I drill btwists everyday but, I'm fucking always scared that i'll break my ankle. S/t's i don't do at all except from a scoot nowadays because i'm scared my ankle will blow out.

Forward Moving Gainers.
- I landed on my head from throwing one too long. Popped my collar bone out. had a thorn in my side for that trick since.
Fulltwist Standing!
I have had the fulltwist from the R/o and standing off ledges 4-5 times now but continuing loosing it. i also have lost it now and every time i re-land it there is some new feeling about it? Only once have i actually had it standing on flat ground!
Corks Did!
For a while i lost them but after nailing them over and over i has them back on concrete =D and they are really hard to hurt yourself with. Unless its a double!
Though now i think about it "Besides the above" nothing really scares me so why aren't i out comboing my ass off? lol =\
Edit: sorry if some you find some of the tricks i mentioned uneasy lol. i guess everything though is easy once you have had it before :P
Something harder. Swing Thru scares the shit outta me cant do em fully like i was almost getting months ago. and i do fear my cork from a reverse setup turning into an out of control Fulltwist! lol

FUCKING DOUBLE LEGS
i hate them with the passion of a thousand suns.
cool watch, love seeing them with all the variations, but hate doing.
wow i really dont like them

For me, gainer slant gainer or whatever gainer. If you land on one leg like reverse gainer,
it hurts badly. Broke my toe bone because of gainer.
But now is better whit the J-step.

standing backtuck. Hell round off backtuck is even better. I've had them for like two years but I just hate them, nothing else seems scary really just different at first, except for just simple backtucks!!!!

Everything now.
But I only trick once every few months for the past couple years haha.

Hmmm, I guess I would say Forward going Gainer.
I mean, I can do them, easilly, but they scare me the most (maybe because I bailed it pretty nicely once).

haha:tongue: <3
you have no idea.hahaha
i used to be scared of these.
but it was ok and i did them every session.
then i got injured doing a handstand to gainer.hahaha i landed on my neck and shoulder.
and i was scared of swingthroughs and backflips.
but one day i thought ugh whats the point in being scared.
so i just did it.
then as that was easy i thought i would try an x-out full.
the x-out went a bit wrong because i slipped and i would have probably landed on my back, but then i started to twist so i landed directly on the top of my head.
but i got up a few seconds later laughing so its cool.
i use but and and a lot.

I got my full twist nearly a year ago, and broke my ankle doing it, first day back from recovery I did a hyper 360 and broke it again...and I went soo long without back tucking that now it sucks and it scares me.
If I haven't done one in ages, a backflip can scare me haha.

uhh, not as much scares, as i dont ever plan on trying it again lol, a Pop side double full, if i ever try a side double again its definatelly gonna be from a cartwheel set up... trying a Pop again isn't worth another 4-5 months without tricking...

Oh and round off back yeah...I just landed so many times on my neck that I got tired of doing them lol. Halfway through the damn backflip I just forget what I should do and just stop my rotation lol, although when it doesn't happen I land them bitches perfectly damn it! :tear:

Double leg, because when I crash on my side my balls are crushed. Oh and btwist due to bad ankle.

God......back full. I'm so scared of them now. I could do them fine on trampolines and everything, but then as soon as i did one on the ground, tore the ligaments in my ankle. Still injured now.
doing backflips off walls, or even wall flips scares me.
even though they were the first tricks i learnt, and they are really simple, i havent done them since i first started tricking. i just have a vision of myself wacking the back of my head against the wall. il have to re-learn them someday.

S/t anything into a gainer flash is scarier for me than it is to throw a cork out of it.
When I cork I get to look at the ground before I flip.

same here man
to sum up, nearly everyone's fear is based upon crashing or getting injured from the very trick you're now afraid of.
What a bunch of pussies.
EDIT:On a more serious note, I don't do a 540 on my bad side (left leg kick), because I am worried hat i will fuck up my ankle. I hate it, because it used to be so simple for me, and I'm sure I could do a SEX jacknife with it, i's just the risk is too high. I already have an ankle injury which is nasty. Every time I get hurt during a session, it's my left ankle getting fucked, and I almost pass out from the pain, leaving myself rolling on the floor. Usually I get up after 5 mins and go on with the training. I'm hardcore, to say the least. I should finally get an attest from what's actually wrong with it.

Nah, I don't like doing C7's because a bunch of Kicking based tricksters trick near me and they find it disrespectful to turn a kick into a twist.
backflips..even though i know i have the height to make it...and have made it easily wit spotters.,btwists...hook b-twists no fear but a straight btwist i got fear...used to be double legs...but i got a new set up that makes me feel more in control of the move. gymnastics aerials scare me for sum reason even though i've never fell on the move.

540.
Backflip, sure, but I just need a space and proper warm-up. 540, I'm scared as hell 'cause my ankles get really hurt from trying them. WEll, I *DO* train in a garage with cement flooring, but ALL THE SAME, it hurts like hell.

What a poor excuse hahah.
Anyways like I say I have to think before performing most tricks now--since I only trick once every few months. Each time it gets a little more awkward haha.
Doublefulls and cork variations scare me now for some reason. I never even got injured on either of them. It just lack of air awareness I think--due to not training for the past couple years.

I seriously can't do a backflip.
I was scared of swing throughs and that was about it. Anything I have a problem with is usually a mind fuck, Like getting your head round the process of a move, like Double legs, I find them Confusing, hence why mine are really really poor. I just remembered the trick i'm scared of is Full twists. Their the only one.

i will totally agree with you on that, they have unpredictable landings, i tried one once onto a crash mat (it was set up in a warehouse thing that had a concrete floor, there was a strip of thin mat, then a crash mat at the end) when i went for it i went off on an angle and missed the side of the crash mat and smashed myself on the concrete, never doing a sideflip again

best bet is to do leg strengthening excersises as well as doing your tornado kick basics. alot of moves can hurt at first just purely cause your not used to them...and the more you do it the more your body gets used to it and strengthens.

Well the way I see it, to properly do the move you need to be able to gainer, which means you need a backtuck, and you should probably have an arabian, but at least a front tuck. And a move with that many preregs isn't that simple IMO.
