View Full Version : Webser or frontflip?
Is a webster (tucked, landed on two legs) easier than a frontflip?
I want to know which one i should learn first.

I think websters are harder. I could be wrong, oh wait, no im not.
I think im going to learn the webser first. IT looks easir and its less scary.

Why don't you just try both and see for yourself :-/
Both completely different moves, they share forwards rotation and that's about it.
Try both, see what you think.
I can webster well, but my front flips are terrible. But I have drilled my websters a lot and not my fronts so i think you should do whichever you want, if not do them both.

i can land websters standing very easily but frontflips are so fucking hard for me. i always land them loooow as hell.
so i guess it depends on what you're most comfortable with. if you can aerial easily websters should be pretty easy too.

It depends on yourself, man, just try. The most beautiful aspect about Tricks is Trixperiments. Look at Manny ...
I, personally, can land Websters more easily, but I think it is because I drilled this specific setup more than the two-foot-setup for Frontflips, e.g. ... ahh boy, just do it! :wicked:

Yup! =D
Two different techniques. Do whatever you want first...although I would suggest to learn front tucks first...just because thats the usual order of learning things haha.

You're an idiot.
You ask for advice on which trick to learn first, people tell you front flip, then you say you're going to learn webster first.
Why did you even bother posting this thread if you already knew what you were going to try first ?
Plus, i'm pritty sure this has been coverd already (I only skimmed over the thread). But why don't you just try both and find out for yourself ? It would be quicker to do that, it would probably take 30 seconds to try both.
But instead, you decide to go on a forum and ask this stupid question, which is pritty obvious anyway.
I could be wrong here, I don't know my flips very well, but isn't a webster a varation of a front flip. LOL

nah not really they pretty much share the same motion but thats all. i dont think they help eachother much actually.
i'd say a webster is more some sort of variation of the aerial. in my exp aerials help your websters and vice versa. both require a lot of effort from the legs.

yeah I can confirm that. I have like skyhigh running frontflips on plyo, whereas my websters are quite low (I didn't bother too much learning them though, will work on them soon).
And another thing to confirm this statement, I can't aerial, so that maybe also why my websters are quite low at the moment
p.s.: Damn I have to learn to aerial, since my B class tricks lack all aerial variations haha

Ahhhh OK. It's just he said: "tucked, landed two legs". So to me that would suggest something like: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XDwiKRFbGq8&feature=related
Which to me looks more like a front flip varation than an aeral varation.
As apposed to this (which is as you said an aerial varation): http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NMAhql0GO5w&feature=related

Personally I think flexibility helps, I could never land websters until I started doing regular leg stretchs and dynamic kicking exercises. I only learned them about 6-7 weeks ago, then after I learned them I stopped doing the stretchs, and I can still do them but I land a helluva lot lower now and I don't feel as powerful of a back kick coming through.
Front flips are just easy once you get the take off right, you can even have a pretty loose tuck on them but so long as (in my own opinion) you get your take off right, it's a doddle from there.

Front flips are easier. 2 legs are stronger than one leg take offs so learn the front flip first.
