WOW JKT I was just wondering last week what your status is

On-topic: I'm just slowly getting back to tricks now after being gone since early september due to my injury. It feels good, so far the tricks haven't felt all too weird, most of them actually feel better.. Of course I've lost a bunch of tricks but will hopefully get them back soon.. Can't tell for sure, I'm not fully tricking until february I think...

Long breaks suck, but it clears your head and is a weird experience when you're stripped of something important to you and become occupied in other things. Also, it's a time of self-evaluation and evaluating your own motives/determination etc..

It'll feel REAL good to be back.. right now I'm starting to do cheat tricks again, won't do flips and hard punch take-off tricks before feb though...

i havent really tricked in forever..just been doing basic martial arts. now i'm back into it...and i've found im more powerful than i was. my jacknifes alot more comfortable...i got my pop 720 back and working on pushing that 900/1080. working on my basics has really helped my advanced stuff...working backside has definetly helped my pop 720. i never expected it to. i feel alot better on spin stuff. my raiz has become more floatier...i feel like tricks you can easily get burnt out with and when u take a break and come back..you can find yourself 10x more eager to do it..than when u started.

Look at Danny Graham

- He was gone for years
- got motivated again
- came back a beast

was he truley gone? i saw his myspace long before he got into the tricking scene like wit haime n stuff. never knew who he was at the time..just randomly came across his myspace. seemed like he was always tricking in some way. if not...damn thats beastly.

it feels a bit slow coming back, and the first session always gets you real sore. I find I don't lose too much and most moves can be acquired again with a bit of drilling.

I do think about tricking a lot when I am on a break though, and I still try to practice something like basic kicks, lifting, hand balance, etc.

What he said, I had a break for almost a year ( in the middle of turning to a trickster from a bboy ) And I came back learned a lot.. nothing was lost and gone.. But when you start again it will take a couple of weeks for your body to get used to soreness:tongue:

i havent been able to trick in 4 months ... Knee injury. BUuuuuuuuuut , What came with that is alot of TT browsing and Vid watching. I learnt ALOT of things about tricking and the tricks i was performing eg. how to clean them up a bit, more powerful take offs etc.

First off my injuries havent been severe enough to affect me for the rest of my life or change anything critical but Ive been out for months at a time. It was really slow comming back each time and I had to get some groove into some of the moves that I learned LAST before I was injured but a month into getting back into it I end up twice as good as I was before my injury.

EDIT: Also what happened to NZTricksta

What doesnt kill you makes you stronger-Though you might want to condition to get your muscles used to it again :punched:

yeah im still out for about 2 more months and haven't tricked for almost 4 now :dead: but what ive noticed, is instead of just watchign a sampler and being like omg he double corked! you noticed how he does it, his technique you critique much more, you learn lots when your on the sideline that i think will benefit all when you return!

haven't tricked in 2 weeks and everything went to hell. i lost all my tricks except backflip and webster. everything went from tricks i could do with ease to tricks i can almost land.:dead:

edit: ps my joints are also dying from the low aerial "landings" they weren't good.
