View Full Version : Dynamic stretches after static

I always do my dynamic stretches before my static and as part of my warm up for activities and such. And finish off with static as my last type of stretching for each day. However, I always find that the next day, I can't reach my max or almost max dynamic stretch straight away, it takes several repetitions and maybe sets. However, I've found that if I do dynamics again after my static stretching, the next day(morning), I can virtually reach my maximum straight away.
Is this something you think I should really avoid, or if it works for me, keep doing it? Do others encounter the same problem?

Do what you like.
Just don't add momentum to your dynamic because balistic=bad after a training session.

I do dyanmic->static and then one set of dyanic after my static. I find that it helps enourmouslyyyyyy, it's just nice to finish with warm muscles.

I do dynamic -> sometimes static active -> sometimes isometrics -> static passive as a "cooldown".

He definately should have. Anyway, it's not a problem if the instructor started martial arts at 20 so long as he became good.
I'm not sure why your dynamic RoM would shrink in the following day, but whatever is causing the stiffness, static stretching releasing it would make sense since you have to relax your tight muscles to get down into it, so there's not much opposing the dynamic's agonists when you do them.
