Practice the takeoff, observe and analyse the 540's of tricker's who can execute the trick well.

honestly the more you practice the more height you will get. when you practice technique, purely from drilling you get height and power the more and more you push yourself. When i first started doing 540's they were pretty shitty, but now i'm pretty proud of how high they are and the fact i could kick giants....GIANTS I TELL YOU!

If you attempt a 540 without a high vertical jump, you will die.

i disagree. speed vs height. you can be fast and have shitty height and still get it over...and the more and more you do it the more you develop the muscles needed for the height so you will have good speed and height.

unless you are a midget and/or your quads/hamstrings have not atrophied to the point of ceasing function, you can do a 540. :good:

Yes of course having good height helps, but isn't essential.

What is more essential is tornados/basic kicking ability.

I told you how to get height in the other thread I think. The jump is a small part of the move really. If you want it to work better, get your arms and your non-kicking leg driving UPWARDS. Look at the arms in Juji's 540 tutorial.

Besides, I think you should be working tornado kicks mainly. What's the point in landing on the kicking leg when your technique looks crappy anyway? Practice tornado kicks, working on getting the take-off right. It will be easier to get the take-off right, and to get good height and so on if you're not focusing on getting the kicking leg to land. Try 540s now and then, but put your main effort into tornados for now.

Just find an example of a 540 you like, watch the body positioning - particularly foot placement and arm technique - and then copy it. Remember to throw your arms well UP.

as often as u can. but drill good tornados, when you have good basics, the more advanced stuff looks good. when u have shitty basics, the more advanced stuff looks shitty. alot of the times your hip will hurt when learning it, cause its probably not used to that kinda thing. as well as your ankle may hurt. as long as your not hunching down on the ankle dropping all ur weight on it, u should develop the right way...developing stronger ankle/calf muscles for the move. also remember your arms are very important in the move.

If you attempt a 540 on a video, everyone here will love you.

*winks*

SPEED, son, speed and power. Get them as well, and see if you can rotate your hips over as you kick. ^^ G'luck!

Speed manifests itself as height.

Haha remember juji's axe2aerial tutorial? "Or you will fall and die". That's what I'm talking about. But now you can use it for any trick haha.

u need height on every trick, i think. using ur arms is what gives the height,
