i have to put a lot of effort in to land 540s
can't seem to spot what I'm doing wrong. is it the height ??
is my non-kicking leg doing the right thing??

slow motion GIFs dont help too much, but it looks decent. your arms are kinda crazy though. cant you put it on youtube? T_T

why do you keep your arms so far apart???
lol use ur arms to throw you up and like keep it close to your chest

Your non kicking leg should be thrown up higher, and everything else should be done with more power.

Arms are throwing you around, not up. Think UP with the arms and the non-kicking leg. Also, the arms aren't in sync with the legs - they throw before your non-kicking leg. Get the working together and it'll improve.

As far as i can see your setup seems like your going for a lay-back 540. For a simple 540 trying keeping your body up standing as possible!

Arms: Your arms are just being extended and moving with your body! although they may feel comfortable like there stabilizing your balance they in actual fact would be making you spin slower! After the spin Which is correct when you take your kicking foot off the ground lift your arms and shoulders up(comfortably but firmly).

Also try when moving to keep your C.O.D (center of gravity) Over the last leg supporting your weight! This will help increase height and help do the trick on 1 spot!

tornado kick. drill your tornado kick. trust me, dont hurry it for that 540. get a really powerful tornado. then work your way from there. do everything you would in a 540, but just do a simple tornado.

arms up, wrap them in for the twist, spot, kick. keep doing it until you start kicking and when you land you get momentum to carry you spinning on the ball of your foot. means you get a lot of power. after that, 540s are still gonna be hell. hahaha, good luck man. just remember basics over advanced.

Your set up is screwed. Don't hop/step, actually plant your right foot when you take that step over your other leg.

I have a similar problem i always land my non-kicking leg first dunno what to do grinded this 540 for about a half of an hour and still my non-kicking leg lands first.
Any help appriciated :)
