Bored:I'm stuck here really bored.I've done everything on my todays to do list & randomly thought of a "new compound lift"...as far as I know. It's not exactly new though,I've just combined a few lifts together.
How it's done:
part one:So you start off as you would in a squat with your grip slightly wider probably using the low bar technique, then you proceed to squat & once your thighs are parallel to the floor you then press the bar above your head & bring it down in front of you on the floor.
Part two:You will now bring this movement straight into a deadlift.Simple as,for this part.
part three:After completing the deadlift jerk the bar over head & lower the bar back into it's original "low bar squat technique position".Done!Do all over again.

Thoughts:It's probably stupid as hell & pointless...maybe not? Critique expected.:smile:Do it!

That's an exercise complex, not a new compound exercise. A complex is a series of linked exercises.

What you have is:

Back Squat
Half Sotts Press
...
Deadlift
...
Jerk

I'd recommend something more fluid and safer:

Back Squat
Thruster
Front Squat
Hang Clean
Jerk

x pause or not and repeat

They're rewarding when you use them for the right reasons. They're a great way to work on strength endurance and endurance and do cardio.

an issue with this is whether you can get a weight which will be effective for both the squat and the press.

To be honest, i dont know that many people who can press the same as they can do for a decent squat.

Something that myself and my training buddies do is clean, jerk, front squat, repeat.

its pretty good, but its just knackering rather than anything else
