View Full Version : Who knows what I pulled?

I've been stretching for side splits, and about 2 weeks ago I pulled something, but It's still here and causing trouble.
Its on my left leg, inside/rear of thigh, just above the knee. And its not the usually achy muscle pain, its the oh-my-god-that-felt-like-a-nail-gun pain. It's getting hard to walk too at times. Anyone know what this might be?
I've tryed the old rest, stretch, and strengthen. I tryed 3 days of doing nothing with my legs other than walking, then as soon as I put any pressure on that muscle the pain comes back with avengance.
Has anyone had anything like this, or is it a trip to the doctor?

Might need to see a professional. Do you feel it in the muscle belly, or at the attachment?

If it happened when you were stretching, it might just be that you've pulled it, but could be something worse too. Maybe you should ask about muscle tears in the conditioning forums, since I'm not sure if they need special treatment.

Given that you say you've rested completely for 3 days, and that it's getting hard to walk, I reckon you should probably get it checked.

In the mean time, continue with total rest. Avoid stretching and strength exercise as well. Make sure you walk normally (when you need to walk at all), as unusual postures can lead to incorrect healing.

Good luck. Keep us posted if necessary.

does it only hurt win you jump and put weight on your leg. I pulled something somewhere like that and waited it out. I went for one of those van damme jump spinning split kicks but for a 540 and landed right in that split position and it hurt like hell.

That's what you get for doing shitty handstands, JBoyLover.

I doubt stretching will solve a stretch related injury.

You should probably just suck it up.

That's the worst advice I've ever heard.
