Tonite I did a shitload of 540's, and I filmed two of them.

I also attempted backflips. -_- I only ask for advice and criticism!

finally getting over the backflip fear. Very nice man! It'll open doors!

Shyaw, totally dude.

Like, i've done backflips before (really!), but I quit practicing when I really strained my knee doing BAAAAAD 540's (I landed too low and so it wrecked my knee) last year (or was it two years ago? I can't remember).

But now, I'm back and tryin' again.

I'm goin' backwards: how, I have no idea. All I know that I'm putting this thought through my head: "stall, stall, stall, then KNEE, KNEE, KNEE." -_- apparently my body said 'FUCK this!'

*sweat beads pour down face*

I"m pooshin it as hard as I can, capt'n; if I poosh any haader, tha whole thing will blow!

I know I can get Feilong if I practice; I just know it; 360's are getting easier.

Aerial and backflip are the two I'm having trouble with. Backflip actually seems easier than aerial, and I know God will strike me for stating that!

your backflip looks nice, dont jump back so much, and swing your arms smoother and harder up

*nods* totally there with you.
I just saw Juji's backflip exampler, and I noticed (this could be so dumb of me) that his arms went past his knees. I guess it makes you squat, and then when you thrust up you get the air you need?

But thanks, mate, and, now that I've gotten the 540 (VICTORY), I shall focus all attention on my backflip. ^^ Todah!

don't stall quite as long on the backtuck and make sure you get that stretch feeling with your arms that initiates the rotation.

nice 540!

Nice start, man! Got the backflip - welcome to acrobatics :)! Thats how I think so far.

You technique is nice. For a beginner it's more than nice! The principal moment here is to swing arms UP. For real - just do the same as you do when you just jump up, the arm motion must be the same. What you do is initiate more rotational momentum than you need and lack of height, that's why you do it low, but still nicely ;). You can land it without a mat for sure, but that's not necessary. You have no fear to jump onto height and THAT'S GREAT cuz a whole ton of beginners do! Jump on a mat just like you do - this helps to obtain a hella high backflips!

Get a man to spot you. He must just give you ROTATION so it's needless for him to try give you more height, he just bring you around. You jump like you do when JUST jump, then tuck and he gives you more momentum, rotating you :). If it still doesn't help - try to whip your arms like you try to do a gainer, I mean A LOT more forward, but I recommend to try this only on mat. Anyways, I belive you'll get it nicely soon! Good luck!

P.S.: Your 540 are really not bad.
P.P.S.: You may watch my last training session to see how my backfips look like. It's the end of a hard training, but I do them mainly the same way, maybe a little higher and faster when I fresh :). Here's the link: 17th of Jan 2008 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3732hjKJ-Io)

Congratulations hehe

In the backflip, just 2 tips:

- You are bending your legs too much in the setup
- In the jump, try to get a full extension of your body (and this is not the same as "jump up)

I hate give advice cause my english sucks, but hope you catch the point

The 540 is actually good, just remember to wrap your arms just after you've hit the imaginary target with your kick ^^

I know, I totally keep forgetting that. I was watching this going 'wait... that arm's still up there!" XD lol

but I'll continue refining 540's and working on the backflip. Should be fun. Funner than aerials *steam bursts out of his temples*

ah dude those 540s were really good!

also, you could have totally landed that first backflip on flat. Just be a bit more explosive :good:

Hahaha, no worries, it was the same for me

totally, but, serious, I just dun understand the aerial :S

Backflip makes sense even if it's scarier than Dennis Rodman walkin' round Michael Jackson's house with a boy mask and wearin' a tutu.

i actually just watched again, fully extend your legs before jumping, you like were half extending them when you lifted your feet off the ground. And use my previous information.

for backflip? iiiight.

Will proceed when I figure out what happened to my 540s. >.< Tried them in the, like 23 degree open air yesterday, and could barely pull off a half-decent 540. Even with the wheel kick set up >.< Think I need warmer temperatures XD

but shall proceed to demonstrate dedication!
