I'm just saying that the reason your abs "aren't showing a bit" is probably due to "too high bodyfat", ofc you can have visible abs with pretty high bf, but that's only if you have quite the abs, I guess you haven't got that amazing abs, but they'd nonetheless show clearly if your bodyfat was low enough, many ppl who's never even worked out would get visible abs if their bf was low enough.

How hard can this be, to make it simple, at the surface you have the skin, now feel between it and your abs if you tense them, what you feel between them is mostly bodyfat. Try this and think about what your main problem is, lack of muscles or too high bodyfat?

Feel free to correct me if this is useless information. There are various ways to make your abdominal muscles appear. (Other than doing sit-ups and crunches of course)

I only know of these particular things.

1. SWEAT (cardiovascular activities?)
2. Drink more water
3. Practice flexing? I'm not sure about this one.

Here's my source. I'm not sure if its right though.

The magic number is 9.8%. Now, there are a lot of people who see imaginary abs, but one row doesn't count. The upper row of the abdominals can show up at 15%.

If you can see the linea alba (which means the "white line" ) — the vertical line in the middle of the rectus abdominis — that's at least 9.8%. In other words, you'd see all the rows.

Read it, then come back with questions, if any.

Just eat less, when you're thirsty, drink water instead of milk/soda/juice whatever, eat smaller portions, your bodyfat will start dropping pretty soon.

I could tell you about diet and exercise and go on forever, but what you really just have to do if you want to make it simple is to eat less, just cut down on fats and sugars for awhile and you'll be fine, even 50 sit ups a day would be enough for you to "get results".

I take it you're not 200lbs of lard. But consider yourself "normal built".

Haha...

Anyway, to the original poster:
What do you weigh?

You can acheive visible abs by having a significant amount of muscle, and/or very little bodyfat.

You'
re still young, and I probably wouldn't recommend dropping bodyweight at this stage. Focus on eating clean foods and having fun while exercising (still working hard).
Develop good habits now, and build a solid foundation of muscle mass, co-ordination, strength etc... etc...

You can be fat or you can be not fat.
You can be healthy or you can be unhealthy.

The two don't have any necessary relation to each other. You can be fat and you can be healthy. You can also be fat and unhealthy. Thus, being fat isn't dependent on the quality of the food you consume. It's dependent on the quantity.

So, the fact that you don't eat junk does not preclude you from being fat.

Haha man, at that height and weight, i doubt your problem is with fat, i'd suggest engaging on a program that works your abs if that's your highest goal, but since you are going to train you may as well train your other bodyparts wiht big compound movements, which will work your body overall and eat an addecuate amount of food, which will make you grow. The you could drop some fat to make them more visible.
If you are too lazy, or that is too much, just do hanging knee raises, eventually hanging leg raises, weighted sit ups, buy an ab roller maybe? i don't know if that helps with hyperotrophy. And eat and sleep.
Just have in mind that if you're not in good physical shape it WILL take some time and effort to get them, yo should enjoy the process anyway.

Haha nice! i hadn't read the orignial post but that changes things completely. Take Steroids, lift everyday, and inject Synthol into your belly.
