Hey guys :eh:

Well the thing is....

I was doing Axe2aerials the day before yesterday, for about an hour or two, and I was just a bout to land them, but my battery run out (i wanted to have it on film ), so I went home. I was pretty tried and my muscles hurt a bit.

The next day, I decided to go try some more Axe2aerials before my friends birthday, and I landed few, so I kept going, when after half an hour right when i took off the ground, something clicked or torn in my hip or ass, I cant really tell.
Pain was instant. It hurts when I walk and when I seat. I feel pain somewhere around the back of the hip, and tbh it hurts, and it is annoying :/

Its not swollen, and I think.. i shall rather say, HOPE nothing is broken

Any idea what could it be?
Torn muscle (im hoping for that), or....?

Well, really impossible to say, but it sounds like a good old strain.

I learned it the hard way too - DO NOT train when you're sore or fatigued. I guess you learned that too now ;)

But get well soon, and remember to listen to your body!

Exactly!

But you know, you wont listen until something goes wrong.:ogre:
Especially when you are near landing the move.

I really do hope its a strain :worry:
Thank you Bissen

Some kind of tear or strain or something.

Just give it complete rest for a while (at least several days). You can walk around and stuff but don't train. Probably avoid stretching too - or just stretch very lightly. Avoid pain (but don't adjust your walk).

Post again if it doesn't improve.

I think Papa Lazarou meant not to adjust your walk. I think it is necessary to move as natural as you would in normal circumstances. This is to make sure you don't stress your other muscles too hard by avoiding pain. You should avoid pain by not moving around too much if walking causes so much pain. At least for a few days.

But I think Papa Lazarou can explain these things better than me.

Ok, first off - Damn you for landing that axe2aerial hahaha.
And dude, that sucks too bad :(. The injury sounds kinda' like when I got raped by a really bad landed 360, when I took off something snapped and snapped again when I landed. I was totally out for like 2-3 months haha. Apparently, it was a muscle rupture :-/. Anyway, I hope that it's just a good, nice, old sprain and that you'll feel better soon :good:

I told you I was close! I took off the shoes at -2 degrees and tricked. It worked.
Yeah I guess its a muscle rupture. At least it seems so.
Muscle is a bit swollen now, but nothing major.

Thanks for good wishes, will try to get well soon :juji::apple:

I do not want to scare you, but the same thing happened to me, only I did a normal Aerial and had not done a warming-up, which gives about the same effect as training with fatigued muscles...I torn my hamstring muscle at the top (so near the back of the hip/ass area) and was out for 3 months! It hurted when walking, when sitting, when swimming...I tried mild stretching, iced it like crazy and the most important and hard part: rest...Still it took 3 full months to heal. Although the injury sucked, it was a good learning moment; I now ALWAYS do a proper warm-up before practise:smile:

And you say you hope you didn't broke anything, but a broken bone heals a lot faster than a torn muscle:wink:

I really hope your injury isn't as bad as mine was and that you'll soon be tricking again:good: Just don't rush it, because that will only make things worse...

Yeah, if it doesn't significantly improve after a week or so you might go to a physio or something - should speed up the recovery.

regardless of what it is, the fact is you need to RICE it. ice probably wont even help that much anymore tho. take some vitamin M..pop that shit like candy. drink alot of water...eat potassium rich products...slap some icy hot on that sucker, and stretch it lightly.

if it hasnt healed in 3 weeks then youll probably need an MRI and there wont be anything you can do (by yourself) anyway.

enjoy recovery! cuz its a bitch. -_-

Gah, its been two weeks and I still cant extend my leg fully, or do hook kicks with it :(
Pain is 99% gone, but when i try to front lift it higher than my waist, it starts to hurt in my ham string :bad:

Where can one obtain this item called Vitamin M?!
Any food that is rich in this vitamin?

vitamin M = motrin 800mg..three times a day with food for 10 days.

I don't know about vitamin M, but my doctor gave me the tip to take magnesium supplements to make my recovery quicker. I tore up my hamstrings last year and didn't wait long enough to recover, but physio and magnesium was what I got.

See a freaking professional right now! I'm pretty sure you've torn the muscle. That's not a good thing. Do not train or even test it. Do not stretch it either. Muscle tears can be bad news - I don't think I need to go into detail. If you try to deal with it yourself you will probably end up with a permanent problem, and might never regain full function.

Follow the advice of the doctor (or physio or whatever) to the letter! A qualified professional should be able to diagnose it, tell you how to deal with it and tell you what should happen during the healing process. Make sure you tell them how it happened and all the details too.

Good luck mate. I hope it turns out alright.

Ok i'm not going to give any explanation about the injury, but I'm pretty damn sure I know what you have (ofcourse not 100%) because I also had it.

First let's check if you had the following experiences (I experienced all of these points when I had the injury)
-You heard/felt a clicking noise when you got it
-It hurts at the place where your leg connects to your ass
-Sitting hurts
-Walking hurts
-When you wake up in the morning your injury hurts and you have to stretch it a little and only after that you can get out of bed
(am i right on these points?)

I'll skip right to the end where I tell you how to heal up.

It took me 5 months to heal from this i'll tell you now so you'll have to be patient.

First of all stop tricking till you are healed.

-Every evening stretch very very lightly, don't hurt yourself to much, just stretch on the bed or something.
-After stretching take a warm bath (this is very important) for 20 to 30 minutes, this is very good for your muscles. (I don't have a bath so I just bought one of those child bathing things and only sat in there with my ass).
-After taking a bath again stretch very lightly.

Stretching very lightly is very important because if you don't do this you'll loose all your flexibility while healing.

Just follow these steps everyday and you'll heal up, I know sometimes you'll feel like you'll never get better because that's how I felt, but I've had quite some injuries, some more sirious and I've gotten back to 100% every single time and they didn't leave permanent damage.

Also an extra that would help loads is to find an Acupuncture therapy store, getting acupuncture for the muscle/nerve will help loads. But only go there if you feel that it's a good place (you can usually feel safe if it's a chinese person, if it's not I wouldn't do it).

Also everything I told you I didn't think of it myself.
A proffesional massage/acupuncture/sports therapist from China told me to do all of this and it really helped.
So I really suggest you just do this.

good luck.

[Edit] about your doctor thing, no offence but my experience with normal doctors with these kinds of injuries is that they don't help a fuck, so I really wouldn't bother with these weird therapy things that kost loads. Ofcourse I could be wrong, but that's just what I think.

Exactly!

I heard a click when I "overstreched" on aerial, and it hurt.
It hurts at the place where my leg connects to my ass. What a brilliant sentence :D. Sitting hurts, and annoys the hell out of me.
Walking does not hurt, and also it dont hurts in the morning, but it hurts a little bit when i run lightly.

It took me 5 months to heal from this i'll tell you now so you'll have to be patient.

JESUS CHRIST!!!! You serious ?
Here goes the spring

Ok, I was doing some gainer flashes today, but it didnt hurt me so i continued. Will not do this again.

Ive had shitloads of injuried too, but damn, its harder everytime, and I want to trick sooner and sooner everytime. :eh:
Im trying to gain some upper body strenght, so I dont feel like shit....Weak and worthless

Well I dont think Id find a chinese guy here that would do this.
And to be honest Im not sure if I can afford it :ouch:
Is it expensive?

Lol you really remind me of myself.
I had a lot of bad experience with docs on this kind of injuries (I was skateboarding before too) and to be honest, they didnt do SHIT for me.
Not even once.

I was waxing my rail 3 years ago, and I slipped and there was a piece of metal that got into my hand pretty deep. I went to 2 doctours, took Xray and they told me its nothing and 1st one bandaged me, the other one STICHED up the wound (!!!) . After 2 weeks they took off stichs and i went to the ocean for a weekend and wound opened and I saw a tiny piece of metal in my hand and I grabbed the metal with nails and pulled out almost 5cm long chip of iron.
2 docs and xray ffs :eh:
anyway...this was very very offtopic

I will follow your tips, and I hope I heal in no time (:agony:).

Haha ok man, great I could be of help.

Also i'm pretty sure you have the same injury I had, but mine was probably bit worse (with the walking/morning hurt).
And yeah I know the sitting is really very annoying, I used to sit on the edge of a chair so that i'd only sit on the half of my ass that didn't hurt.

I got it by falling into a front split without warming up.
So it could be very possible it will be less then 5 months for you.
Let's hope so.

But with the points I gave you for healing up, i'm really a 100% again, I can do front splits and everything without hurting.

So good luck with healing up man :good:

Haha kamikaze. Didn't I say you should see a professional and stop all training?

I already said that it was probably a muscle tear. Anyone half qualified should be able to diagnose it. Sivlon's advice is probably good, but you should see a physio or something and tell them the details - what you were doing, the popping noise, etc.

I said I wouldn't go into detail, but here's a few things that I think can happen with a muscle tear:

- The damaged tissue can scar, leading to permanent loss of effectiveness and increased risk of further injury
- You may get blood clotting in the effected area. Internal clots can calcify (become bonelike sharp things) and continue damaging the surrounding tissue.

If that wasn't clear enough - THESE THINGS ARE POTENTIALLY REALLY BAD!

You'll really be better off treating this absolutely right. See a good professional and follow his/her instructions perfectly. Impatience will screw you over really badly with this.

As for stretching... well, stretching of any level causes temporary (and minimal) muscle damage. So if you have torn the muscle, do you really think it's a good idea to stretch it? If you feel any pain at all when you try to stretch it, stop stretching! Flexibility returns quickly anyway.

I can't stress this enough - for the love of god treat it properly. No "it'll be alright to train just this once" or "it's probably better by now" or anything like that. I'm not being harsh for the sake of it but you really need to appreciate how serious this could be.

Having said all that, good luck with it. If you treat it right you should recover fine in a few months.

I just wanted to ask Sivlon about that.
Yeh, I tried to do some strechs yesterday, but it really did not feel well, so I rather took a warm bath, and do some upper body traning.
I think Ill just wait with streching, I doubt it can get any worse as it is.

Follow the qualified professional's (your physio or whoever) advice, no confusion there.

The link anfeyd posted is probably alright, but following the physio's advice is probably safer - particularly since you probably don't know what you're doing.

I didn't mean to scare you before by the way =p
Just wanted to make sure you understood how serious it could be if you don't treat it properly. So yep, avoid any extra activity that causes pain (training/whatever) and see a professional as soon as possible. I've basically said all I can in this thread.

Good luck.
