I don't have it. I want it. Help me. Please?

That's pretty much we're I'm at. Shoes or no shoes, grass or concrete, I just can't seem to get that hook kick out in time before my landing. Am I approaching this or setting up for it all wrong? I can see my timing is way off and if I could freeze time for just one second, I could totally adjust myself for it, but I can't. Any advice or tips are more then welcomed.

Please, help me get this damn kick!

[EDIT]: ignore my father, he was concerned for me to be tricking out in the freezing cold ^^;

1st... please tell me your entire habitat is covered in concrete... cause if you're trying to be hardcore by tricking on it... stop. It's stupid.

2nd... get a better 540. Work on your setup and the kick in general. You're nearly jumping off both feet... just lifting one up before the other. Also, your landing is sooooooo unstable. Have the prereq WELL before moving on.

3rd... work on your kicks. Use targets. By this I don't mean just kick targets with a 540 all day. Work your kickSSSSSSSSSS. Basics mainly.

yeah you need a better 540. and you're trying to hook too early, you need to gyro that 540 a little before hooking. right now it looks like a backkick.

The problem is on the 540, you really need a good 540 before you can jacknife.

No, we have grass, but it's winter so it's either iced over and as tough as concrete anyway or muddy and slippery as hell ^^; I just didn't have any close up shots of me doing them inside or on warmer grass yet.

Okay, so I need to work on my 540 it seems. Set up the first leg even higher and then kick off? I'm sorry, I don't mean to be an ass about this, I'm just confused when someone tells me to work on my kicks. I know my attempts at throwing a hook kick at the end were lame but the round kick off the 540 wasn't good? I was pretty sure I knew threw decent round kicks and tornadoes. What in particular is wrong about my kicks? Should I not lean back as much or throw a Crescent 540 instead? Would that help my landing more?

Thanks again, everyone, I really appreciate all this!

Yea, trying that too ^^; not working out so well...something about me an hook kicks >O I end up loose control while I'm tucking to spin and when I kick the leg out I end up going sideways or falling in the direction I'm leaning before I can kick. I figured it might be a prerequisite to a Jackknife as well but I was hoping I might still be able to land it somehow anyway.

yeah i was going to say the same thing... u need more kicking time, man. progression is good, but making it look good for what u r got is better imo.

You need a better c7 and better 540

you better get off that concrete and never trick there again untill you have the trick pefectly down with loads of height, otherwise you can say goodbye to your feet and knees

Well I do practice them on a gymnastics floor, I just had no footage and the grass/dirt was frozen solid and I didn't really feel I was messing anything up with a 540 on concrete, it feels pretty much the same as doing it on a mat. But if you guys say so, I'll work on it some more and watch some tutorials before posting a redo of my 540 and c720 attempts and see where I can go from there.

Thanks a lot guys, I'll still gladly take any tips to help my 540 get better. Everyone's so far told me I need better 540s but I don't exactly know what I'm not doing right about them other than the landing. Does anyone have anything to say that might help me land the 540 safer and cleaner?

why do you even attemp a jacknife with such a bad 540

i hate it when people try to get a higher level trick without mastering the preq.:dead:

Hey, I'm REALLY sorry to disappoint everyone, I honestly had no idea how bad it was. I know my landing is a bit off, but I thought I had the right height and form for it up until now. I don't mind the criticism, but can someone please tell me exactly what I need to do to make them better, please? I really would like to know because I can't quite tell whether I'm not torquing enough or positioning my legs in the right angle or what.

This has almost nothing to do with that lol, put it simply for you, you need a better cheat 720 and 540. Work on your prequisites.

You are spotting your hook kick on the wrong side of your body (under rotated). Need power.

Ah sorry I didn't specify, I meant what I could do to make my 540s better, I know I can't get the Jackknife at my skill level so I guess this thread turns more into what I should do to make my 540 better at least.

Tbh it's not so much your 540 but your c720, nothing in terms of technique but more so you need practice on your doublepump c7s more.

Hm, all right. So I just need to simply go higher and rotate faster then. I'll keep practicing then!! ( on grass or floor ^^; )

thanks again everyone for all your help. When I return...I shall have this move down! >.<
