Its been a long time I've posted videos of me attempting tricks and I've decided to get the Aerials and 540s down before proceeding with the other basics, excluding 360 cresents.

This is me trying to Aerial.

I know I need to keep that right hand off the ground but sometimes it just spontaneously gets sucked to the ground :sad:

Other tips would be appreciated

..and this is me trying to 540

How do I get more horizontal during mid air and how do I make my tornadoes look better?

All advice appreciated:smile::smile:

PS: How do you emb a youtube video? :/

I can't aerial, but it looks like you're trying to face to the front all the way through, turning it into a webster kind of move.. If I understand it correctly, you're supposed to be facing the way you came upon landing.

On your 540s: your setup really sucks, fix that first, put some power into it. You're spinning a full 360 degrees before you even lift your non-kicking leg. Watch tkd_andy's 540 tutorial, he emphasises the setup well.

your first few aerial attempts were okay, but as you did more i saw they started looking more like bkicks.
forgive me if i'm wrong, but it looks like your are getting a little lazy after a while.
while tricking, and especially with moves that focus a lot on proper technique like aerials: don't ever get lazy! always put in full effort in everything you do.
another thing regarding those aerials that caught my eye: your leg lands sideways. if properly executed, you should land in the exact opposite way you came from. in other words: you don't turn enough. if you turn enough you can swing that first leg back underneath you, causing you not to put your hands down, and landing that aerial.

also i think your cartwheels are not yet strong enough. can you post a vid of them? they have to be perfect before your can aerial.

Your aerials look like side flips.
As Sakanem said, they are supposed to end up facing the way you came, like when you do a cartwheel with a half turn. Also to rotate round that bit extra try tucking your legs in, its easier to rotate than with straight legs. good progress:good: aerials will come easy to you!

540: Try different setups, the way you are doing that one is too slow, so try something you can get more speed off or get ANGRY and smash that one!

no offence, but tucking your legs in will result in a sideflip-style aerial.
your legs should be straight during aerials. if you lack rotation, it's probably 'cause your cartwheels are also lacking rotation. try to do your aerials the exact same way as your cartwheels, but with extra effort on the legs.

don't focus on the arms, the legs should do all the hard work. if your swinging leg is straight, it can generate much more lift, resulting in more height. and the swinging leg needs to be kept straight the whole time, since once you are fully upside down, the swinging leg needs to reach all the way down and underneath you again.
if you tuck your legs in you will kinda 'drop' down halfway through. this is good for sideflips, but you don't want that in aerials.

i'll get a cartwheel video up soon, and I'm confident in cartwheels.. I mean I can do them even in like.. slow mo or really very fast if I'd like in a straight line, hopefully by tomorrow.

I'll try out all the tips given :)

With the 540, as said earlier, you're stepping almost a full 360 degrees, which in most cases is not advisable. Only step 180 degrees, so your back leg is now in front of you.
Use your arms more. I had the same problem you're having, but then I used my arms and my crappy Tornadoes improved tenfold into 540s. Swinging your arms up when you come back around gets you height and momentum to kick that leg over.
Lift that non-kicking leg high into the air. This will give you more height and/or time to kick the kicking leg over and land the 540. It may also give you a slight horizontality.
Also, don't be afraid to pull the non-kicking leg back. I used to be afraid of attempting to 540 because of not planting the kicking foot and falling on my non-kicking knee/shin when landing.

If all else fails, try to do a 540 spin without the kick. Then slowly add the kick in as you progress.

turn your hips in your aerial and don't go into so lightly.. get mad then do 1..
and for your 540 kicks you must torque your upper body more.. much more.. and make your hips torque and follow through.. also chamber.. it'll help loads..
edit: what i mean by torque.. is if you notice when you land your tornado.. your feet land facing behind you and they whip your upper body around.. you want your upper body already facing that way when you land..thats why its a 540..

so.. i turn my hips in the aerial like it would look like in a cartwheel..?
like after my jump, i just turn my hips a slight 180deg?

PS: i'll get the cartwheel vid up soon, im just too tired these days :(
