Sand is good to do moves like that on :) It's prety hard and soft at the same time, so you get very good takeoff and dont hurt yourself if you should bail :D But i think its just good to practice corks and stuff like that on :P Like they do :D

The hopping on one leg annoys me too. But that separetes that type of acrobatics from "tricking" type acrobatics. They hardly ever combo anything but back-back-back variations and swignthrous. And ofcourse dblcork-hop-hop-hop-ridiculous websterswitch-and so on. It looks too gay.

from what i've gathered the hop is just their style of tricking down there... they just do comboes to switch between legs and see how long they can maintain the combo, regardless of how much time they spend on one leg...
